Twin Peaks Star Lara Flynn Boyle Had Her Scenes Cut From A Classic '80s Movie
Image
Donna Hayward. This "Twin Peaks" character might elicit mixed reactions, but Donna is an integral part of the titular town and every beautiful and terrifying sentiment it stands for. Donna — played by Lara Flynn Boyle in the first two seasons of "Twin Peaks" — is our closest connection to Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) after her death, her perspective being intimate, complex, and tinged with a sense of naivete. But there's more to Donna than her perfectly routine teenage existence, which she wants to desperately shed in anticipation of a more adventurous life. Boyle plays Donna with both sweet tenderness and fierce intensity, etching a character that adds to the mythos of "Twin Peaks" in understated ways.

Eddie Murphy Turned Down Rush Hour To Make One Of His Biggest Flops
Image
Over 40 years since he came blazing out of nowhere to save "Saturday Night Live," we are still howling at the explosive comedic brilliance of Eddie Murphy. He was still a kid when he made his big-screen debut in Walter Hill's masterful two-hander "48 Hrs.," and became the biggest star in Hollywood two years later when "Beverly Hills Cop" turned out to be the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time. Every time Murphy stepped in front of a camera, audiences were prepared to laugh themselves silly, so it was somewhat disconcerting when he downshifted to third gear and gave us just funny enough throwaways like "The Golden Child," "Beverly Hills Cop II...

Ron Howard Reveals the Shocking Note That Nearly Killed Splash
Image
Decades after struggling to produce Splash (1984), Ron Howard is opening up about the notes that nearly killed his movie. It was led by a young Tom Hanks (Allen Bauer) in his second theatrical role, alongside Daryl Hannah (Madison), Eugene Levy (Dr. Walter Kornbluth), and other stars. Howard served as the director, while Brian Grazer was a writer and producer.

Mixing comedy with a romance, the movie featured a man falling in love with a mermaid years before Disney's The Little Mermaid entered theaters. Splash proved to be a box office hit, earning nearly $70 million against an $11 million budget. Unfortunately, it nearly failed to enter theaters at all.

In an interview with Vulture,...

The 25 Best Movie Scores of the 1970s
Image
Movies have never looked better than they did in the 1970s, and they’ve never sounded better either. The decade’s film music contains a remarkable confluence of instruments, genres, and musical philosophies, ranging from the last masterpiece ever composed by Hollywood Golden Age holdover Bernard Herrmann (“Taxi Driver“), to the first American masterpiece composed by Ennio Morricone (“Days of Heaven“), and the absolute dominance of god-level titans like Jerry Goldsmith (too many great film scores to list in a parenthetical) and John Williams (nope).

But most exciting of all was the radical explosion of what movie music was allowed to be, as the most forward-thinking filmmakers of the era remade the shape of cinema itself through their collaborations with musicians that you’d never find in a studio executive’s rolodex: Sun Ra, Wendy Carlos, Tangerine Dream, Popul Vuh. From Maurice Jarre to Goblin and all points in between,...

Steve Trailer: Is Cillian Murphy’s Netflix Movie a Darker Take on Robin Williams’ Best Work?
Image
Cillian Murphy is channeling his inner Robin Williams in the trailer for his upcoming drama film Steve, which feels like a darker version of the latter’s Dead Poets Society. Directed by Tim Mielants, the movie is slated to premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival in the Platform Prize section and dropped a first trailer online (via Netflix/YouTube).

In the trailer, Murphy is seen as the titular character who works as a teacher at a school for boys with societal and behavioral issues. As a result, the Academy Award-winning actor’s upcoming movie is likely to draw parallels with Robin Williams’ Dead Poets Society, and here’s why the two seem very similar, at least on paper.

Cillian Murphy’s Steve Trailer Has a Clear Dead Poets Society Parallel

Like Fine Wine: Terrifying Robin Williams Thriller That Critics Body-Slammed With a Measly 37% Score Is a Cult-Hit Today
Image
The Final Cut, released in 2004, is one of Robin Williams‘s more serious but forgettable works. The movie, rated at 37% on Rotten Tomatoes, has long annoyed critics and audiences alike for its uneven pacing and middling plot. Even though the film presents an intriguing premise at first, The Final Cut quickly slows down to a tedious roll that refuses to get out of second gear.

Despite all its faults, however, The Final Cut has some hold over the audience, making it a sleeper cult classic in certain movie circles. It’s initial droll pacing and half-baked idea, when revisited with a forgiving eye, unfolds as a layered and intimate drama told on a small scale [Haphazard Stuff].

As the world mourns the great actor and comedian on the 11th anniversary of his passing, it’s time to review The Final Cut as the underrated gem that it is.

12 Comedic Actors With A Dramatic Role That Didn't Turn Out Very Well
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Every comedian, at one point or another, tries their hand at drama. As much as everyone enjoys a good laugh, no one wants to be typecast in the same kinds of roles throughout their career. Sometimes, it works brilliantly. Take Robin Williams, for example -- he used his incredible gift for comedy to become a hugely popular star on both the big and small screens. Then he seamlessly transitioned to drama, appearing in films like "Good Morning, Vietnam," "Dead Poets Society," "Awakenings," and "The Fisher King," and later went above and beyond behind the scenes to win a well-deserved Oscar for "Good Will Hunting." While audiences always recognized him for his energetic stand-up routines and comedic performances in blockbusters like "Mrs. Doubtfire" and Disney's animated "Aladdin," he still managed to carve out a solid niche as a bankable dramatic star.

Netflix Quietly Hosts a Kevin Costner Gem That Snubbed Robin Williams: “Bless his heart”
Image
In the history of cinema, there are a ton of films that have explored the multifaceted narratives revolving around family and forgiveness. However, none has done it like the American classic, Field of Dreams, featuring Kevin Costner in the limelight. One may ardently claim that it’s “another sports film about redemption.”

However, the intricate storytelling and the motif of chasing one’s dream with Costner in the lead role have made it a classic and a must-watch for movie connoisseurs. The Yellowstone actor did a phenomenal job of keeping the viewers’ eyes glued to the screens.

But to think that he was picked ahead of the legendary Robin Williams for the role of Ray Kinsella sounds unreal to the ears. Surprising as it may sound, that’s exactly what happened, and Costner explains the secret behind it.

20 Must-Watch Movies for Fans of the Dark Academia Vibe
Image
Let’s talk about Dark Academia, it’s basically the genre that holds up a mirror to the academic world and doesn’t always like what it sees. You can’t mention Dark Academia without paying homage to The Secret History by Donna Tartt, which essentially birthed both the aesthetic and the genre as we know it.

If you’ve spent any time scrolling through Tumblr or Pinterest, you’ve definitely encountered the visual vibe: tweed blazers, elitist attitudes, fountain pens, and that perfect sepia filter that makes everything look mysteriously vintage. But Dark Academia is more than just an aesthetic – it’s a genre with specific themes.

We’re talking academic settings, characters obsessed with art and literature, sharp critiques of institutional elitism, and yes, the occasional death. The films we’re diving into today might not tick every Dark Academia box, but they capture that unmistakable vibe perfectly.

Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Tom Cruise Among the Hollywood Stars to Have Been Feted at Taormina Film Festival
Image
The Italian mainland boasts a host of film festivals from the giants like Venice, Torino and Rome to the specialist cinephile celebrations like the Bologna Cinema Ritrovato and Pordenone’s annual celebration of silent cinema. But few of them boast as beautiful and historical a setting as the ancient amphitheater that hosts the screenings of the Taormina Film Festival, which celebrates its 71st edition this year.

The Greco-Roman theater, which once saw spectators enjoying the spectacle of gladiators fighting ferocious beasts, now serves as an open air cinema where viewers have watched the likes of “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” and “Twisters.” Sometimes, Mount Etna will erupt in the distance, spouting plumes of molten lava and stealing the show. With such ancient history in mind, here’s a run through of some milestones in the admittedly shorter history of the Sicilian film festival:

● 1957 – The film festival, which had...

Ethan Hawke Revealed Robin Williams’ Oscar-Winning Movie Gave Him a Dangerous Misconception About Filmmaking
Image
Ethan Hawke is always in style. From indie legend to Gen X heartthrob, Ethan Hawke isn’t just an actor—he’s a whole cinematic timeline. He’s that guy who shows up at every major milestone in a man’s life, like some kind of soulful, scruffy time traveler. High school angst? Dead Poets Society. Young love and midnight wanderings? Before Sunrise.

The man is the coming-of-age genre. And here’s the kicker: Dead Poets Society—one of his earliest and most iconic roles—did more than launch his career. It left a permanent mark, thanks in no small part to Robin Williams.

Hawke recently opened up about how Williams gave him more than a breakthrough performance—he left what he calls a “tattoo on his heart.” And along with it, a bittersweet lesson about the glitter and grit of showbiz.

Ethan Hawke says Dead Poets Society left a “tattoo on his heart,...

After Doc's Success, Fox Orders a New Adaptation of Popular Medical Dramedy
Image
After the success of Fox's medical drama, Doc, which debuted earlier this year, the network is now giving the green light to a U.S. adaptation of a popular U.K. medical series. Doc Martin will come stateside as Best Medicine, with new details emerging about the upcoming series.

Variety reports that Doc Martin, a popular British medical comedy/drama that ran from 2004 to 2022, will be adapted into Best Medicine, a one-hour comedy series with Josh Charles starring as Doctor Martin Best. "The story of Doc Martin has resonated worldwide with its humanity, originality and humor, and with Best Medicine coming to Fox, that eccentricity gets a smalltown America spin, complete with idyllic charm and absurdity," said Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network.

Best Medicine will be executive produced by Ben Silverman, Rodney Ferrell, Liz Tuccillo, Mark Crowdy and Philippa Braithwaite. "[The executive producers] have done a terrific job adapting this signature character for the Fox audience,...

Josh Charles to Star in Fox Medical Comedy Based on British Hit ‘Doc Martin’
Image
Josh Charles will star in Fox’s latest medical series “Best Medicine,” an adaptation of the British hit series “Doc Martin.”

The medical comedy, which will premiere during the 2025-26 TV season, follows the success of the network’s medical drama “Doc” — which was also adapted from a hit Italian series.

“The story of Doc Martin has resonated worldwide with its humanity, originality, and humor, and with ‘Best Medicine’ coming to Fox, that eccentricity gets a smalltown America spin, complete with idyllic charm and absurdity,” President of Fox Television Network Michael Thorn said.

“Best Medicine” will center around Martin Best (Charles), a talented surgeon who abruptly leaves his career behind in Boston and moves to a quaint East Coast fishing village to become a general practitioner. Martin’s blunt, big-city bedside manner does not quite mesh with the locals in the small town. In his attempts to distance himself from the residents of the town,...

“You are a vampire now”: Robin Williams’ Kind Words for Tom Cruise Are Just Wholesome to Watch
Image
A trip down Hollywood memory lane will always have us feeling all the feels, especially if it involves two of the biggest names the industry has had to offer – Tom Cruise and Robin Williams. Say whatever you may, you cannot deny that these actors redefined what it meant to be a star. While Robin Williams is no longer among us, because the world is just unfair that way, we cannot help but reminisce about the good times when he gave us performances like that in Dead Poets Society.

Recently, a video has been making the rounds on the Internet where we can see Tom Cruise crashing Robin Williams’ moment. What follows is a heartwarming exchange between the two, a wholesome reminder that Tinseltown shines brighter when there is genuine camaraderie in the mix.

Detective Pikachu: Nintendo Was So Dead Set on Robin Williams for 1 Pokémon Role That They Outright Excluded the Character When He Passed Away
Image
Robin Williams is an irreplaceable actor who we lost too soon. In the many stories of casting choices slipping away and performances that never made it to the screen, the one involving Williams’ potential role in Detective Pikachu hurts the most.

Williams will always be a beloved icon whose boundless energy and heart made him people’s first choice. So, this wasn’t just a missed opportunity but a testament to how deep his legacy runs.

As per sources, Nintendo had only one actor in mind to play an important role in Detective Pikachu. The character in question was Professor Oak, who doesn’t appear in the movie at all because the company had one non-negotiable condition, i.e., Robin Williams had to play him (via TV Tropes).

Why CBS Cancelled Robin Williams' Final Sitcom
Image
It's considered something of a footnote now, but Robin Williams' last TV credit before his death was for "The Crazy Ones," a David E. Kelley-created single-camera sitcom that aired from September 2013 to April 2014. "The Crazy Ones" was notable in that it was Williams' first time headlining a TV series since the broadcast of "Mork and Mindy" (with Pam Dawber) over three decades earlier. Williams had spent the bulk of his career working in standup or starring in movies, often gaining a great deal of acclaim for his performances. He was nominated for Oscars for "Good Morning, Vietnam," "Dead Poets Society," and "The Fisher King" before finally winning for his very generous turn in "Good Will Hunting." His comedy albums also won him multiple Grammys, while his standup specials netted him two Emmys.

Williams would happily have made a joke about how he is not an Egot, but a mere Ego.

The Penguin Lessons Review — Steve Coogan Charms in Lovable “Man and His Animal Friend” Flick
Image
Directed by Academy Award nominee Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty) and written by Academy Award nominee Jeff Pope (Philomena), the Steve Coogan-starring dramedy The Penguin Lessons has the caliber of talent behind and in front of the camera to be a great film. It definitely doesn’t reach the level of greatness, but if you are willing to look past the movie’s flaws and enjoy it as a lighthearted, not-too-meaningful picture, it’s hard not to be won over by its charms.

The Penguin Lessons Review

Based on Tom Michell’s memoir, The Penguin Lessons tells the story of an English schoolteacher at a boarding school in Argentina whose life is changed after he adopts a penguin. Despite being based on a true story, the film does feel a bit comfortable in its tropes; however, it does break its formula in just enough ways that it feels worth your time as a crowd-pleaser.

Even in This Ridiculously Scary Kids’ Adventure Classic, Robin Williams Offered So Much More Than Laughs
Image
It’s hard to overstate what a massive cultural sensation Robin Williamswas in the 1990s, as he had transcended all expectations to become one of the industry’s most reliable actors. Despite getting his start on the sitcom Mork & Mindy and playing sold-out comedy shows around the nation, Williams would prove himself as an actor by starring in family-friendly hits, comedy sensations, and Oscar-nominated dramedies. Williams was the type of star who could be relied upon to take risks, even when the results were as disastrous as Flubber or Jack. Williams lent his talents to the groundbreaking fantasy adventure film Jumanji, a film that may have been too terrifying for children had it not been for his unique comedic charm.

Netflix brings one of the most important films ever to your home
Image
Netflix announced 12 new titles for the first of the month and then added a dozen more to the mix. The stealth release slate was at least as good as the previously announced group. Happily, it included one of my favorite films ever. If you haven't seen it yet, this is your chance to add it to your list.

I saw this movie at the theater when it came out in 1989. It was astonishing, amazing, and absolutely brilliant. Sounds like an especially arrogant LLC, doesn't it? Well, it truly was and still is all of those things. From the opening frame to the last, I was riveted, as was the entire audience. As soon as it was available on DVD, I had my own copy. That was followed by the Blu-ray, then the digital version. And lucky you, you get to watch it now on Netflix.

When I say this is...

He's created masterpieces such as Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Schindler's List, Catch Me If You Can, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Saving Private Ryan and many more. His talents are endless, and his relatable and enjoyable tales have spanned generations of audiences, even today. However, not every filmmaker is perfect. A notable contender for Spielberg's most controversial or critically panned film, despite the magnificent storytelling and artistry the movie offers to audiences, is his adaptation of the book Peter Pan and Wendy with Hook.

Hook starred the talented Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, and Julia Roberts in a movie that would see the boy from Neverland all grown up, and long forgetting about the fantastical world. However, he returns after his children are kidnapped by the villainous Captain Hook, leading to a grand adventure of self-discovery and familial love.

Janus Films has unveiled a new official trailer for the new 4K restoration & re-release of Picnic at Hanging Rock, an acclaimed Australian film from 1975. It was the third feature film at the time from director Peter Weir - way before he would go on to make The Last Wave, Gallipoli, The Mosquito Coast, Dead Poets Society, The Truman Show, Master and Commander, The Way Back and other films. It was a part of the Australian New Wave cinema movement at the time. Starring Rachel Roberts, Dominic Guard, Helen Morse, Vivean Gray, and Jacki Weaver. The plot involves the disappearance of several schoolgirls and their teacher during a picnic at Hanging Rock, Victoria on Valentine's Day in 1900, and the subsequent effect on the local community. Peter Weir's 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' Gets 4K Trailer & Theatrical Run
Image
It's time to pay homage to a masterpiece that put film legend Peter Weir on the map and in the hearts of cinephiles everywhere. The acclaimed Australian director's 1975 hit film Picnic at Hanging Rock has been restored in stunning 4K, shown off in a new trailer for the re-release of the film. Without the success of the surreal 70s film, audiences wouldn't have the more mainstream cinematic masterpieces from the brilliant mind of Weir, like The Truman Show, Dead Poets Society, Master, and Commander: The Far Side of The World, so it's only right that the film be handled with the utmost respect and care.

While the film has been available from the Criterion Collection for several years, Criterion’s sister company Janus Film is re-releasing Picnic at Hanging Rock in 4K at the end of January. Audiences will be able to relive, or experience for the first time, the...

‘Picnic At Hanging Rock’ Trailer: Peter Weir’s Enigmatic Classic Returns To Theaters With New 4K Restoration
Image
Australian master filmmaker Peter Weir might be retired, sadly, but he amazing and eclectic work always lives on. Weir has so many great works under his belt, the sea-faring “Master & Commander,” the epic “Gallipoli,” thrillers like “The Mosquito Coast” and “Witness” with Harrison Ford and then perhaps more mainstream works like “The Truman Show” and “Dead Poets Society.” But his earlier pre-Hollywood work is arguably still his best, often very mysterious, enigmatic, eerie and mesmerizing.

10 Golden Globe Best Motion Picture Nominees that Didn't Win But Should Have
Image
The Golden Globes, alongside the Academy Awards, have become one of Hollywood’s most significant award shows. For 80 years, it has spotlighted blockbuster hits and lesser-known dramas alike. Winning a Golden Globe is a tremendous honor, but only one film can claim Best Motion Picture – Drama.

"Snub" is a strong term; often, the award comes down to a coin flip between two exceptional films. In some cases, movies gain greater appreciation as time passes. Either way, it’s a mistake to assume that a film-winning Best Motion Picture – Drama is inherently better than the other nominees.

10 Incredible Serious Movie Performances By Comedy Actors
Image
While they are primarily known for their comedy work, a primarily comedic movie actor can turn out an incredible performance in darker, heavier fare. In fact, some of the greatest movie performances are by actors who audiences usually associate with being funny, seemingly unaware of their true potential as performers. Many might not realize it, but comedic performers can be some of the best actors of all time, especially when they take on dramatic characters.

It can be hard for actors to break free of their typical genre, especially when they get their start in the world of comedy. However, the best ones can break free of that preconception about their talents, allowing them to branch out into other genres tense thrillers or dramatic weepies. While a lot of comedic actors try their hand at these kind of serious roles, there are some that truly knock it out of the...

Why It's a Good Thing Liam Neeson Didn't Star in 'Dead Poets Society'
Image
Hollywood history is full of “What if?” scenarios. Some of them involve Liam Neeson. The Nothern-Irish actor has starred in many iconic movies, including Schindler’s List, Batman Begins, and Taken, and received the required recognition for his work. He has been nominated for an Oscar, a BAFTA Award, three Golden Globe Awards, and two Tony Awards, for his work, so he is unlikely to have any regrets. He was also appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2000.

15 Dead Poets Society Lines That Are Unforgettable
Image
Dead Poets Society tackles the struggles of students from an all-boys school dealing with the pressure from society by following their passion, and there are several Dead Poets Society quotes elevating the movie. 1989's Dead Poets Society stars Robin Williams as an English teacher who spreads the love of poetry to his class, many of whom are drowning under their parents' expectations. The movie is a strong drama, masterfully written and directed, and it earned Williams an Oscar nomination for Best Actor, a change of pace for the man who mostly performed as a comedic actor over his career.

The movie also earned an Oscar nomination for Best Picture and Best Director (for Peter Weir), but it was the script by Tom Schulman that stood tall, with the screenwriter taking home an Oscar himself for Best Original Screenplay. Several inspirational lines can be found in the film that will surely ignite the writer in anyone.

Image
Robin Williams had a long-established Hollywood career, and became known for a variety of movies, including Dead Poets Society and Patch Adams. Some of his most celebrated roles are from comedies (The Birdcage and Mrs. Doubtfire), and his knack for humor, along with a charismatic personality, made him beloved by many. Other films, whether blockbusters and/or critical hits, have included The Fisher King, Jumanji, Night at the Museum, and Disney’s Aladdin, where Williams famously portrayed Genie, a character now immortalized in popular culture.

Williams starred in many more projects, some underperforming, including Father’s Day and Death to Smoochy, the latter only generating $8 million. Still, he is often considered among the best parts of any movie he was in, and Williams' film legacy remains strong as audiences continue to enjoy his work across all genres. When it comes to science fiction, for example, he appeared in Flubber, A.

1 of Harrison Ford's Best Films Is This Underrated 40-Year-Old Neo-Noir Thriller
Image
One of the greatest movie stars of all time, Harrison Ford has a presence on screen like no other actor of his generation, representing the kind of classic leading man that is becoming rarer and rarer in Hollywood blockbusters of the 21st Century. With his expressive face, iconic voice, and easy charisma, he is able to masterfully slip between humor and drama in movies like Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Fugitive, and Air Force One. Over his nearly 50-year career in film and television, Harrison Ford has played some of the most iconic characters of all time in some of the most influential and culturally relevant movies ever made.

One place where Ford is woefully underrepresented is at the Academy Awards, where he has been snubbed for many years. However, Ford's one nomination for Best Actor cannot be overlooked -- a deeply moving and captivating performance that...

10 Oscar-Nominated Films That Aged Better Than the Winner

The Academy Awards are widely accepted as the most important and influential awards body in the film industry, marking some of the most critically and commercially successful films of the year and celebrating the art of cinema. Though the nominees and winners are selected by a wide panel of voters from across the industry, sometimes it is easy to look back and see the flaws in the Academy's decisions.

Often, movies that win Best Picture at the Oscars do not hold up nearly as well as some of their fellow nominees. Over the years, audience and critical opinions have shifted, and many believe that different films should have won the Academy Awards' top prize.

Real Reason Robin Williams Went to an Adult Store Dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire
Image
The late Robin Williams is still loved due to the impact he had with his signature comedy. The actor starred in films like Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, and Good Morning Vietnam, and made himself endearing to viewers. He also voiced the Genie in the animated Aladdin film and became a pop culture staple.

One of his most beloved performances is that of the titular role in Mrs. Doubtfire. For playing a divorced father, who dresses up as a nanny to be near his children, Williams received the Golden Globe for Best Actor. To get the voice and look of Mrs. Doubtfire right, he reportedly went into an adult store to test it out on the general public.

‘Cruel Intentions’ Prime Video Review: 2024 Remake Of 1999 Cult Classic Is Surprisingly Good
Image
Teenage dramas have existed for as long as teens have been drumming up drama in schools and colleges. In the ’60s, there were Because They’re Young and Where the Boys Are. The ‘70s had American Graffiti, Grease, and Saturday Night Fever. The genre exploded in the ‘80s with movies like Dead Poets Society, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. And the ‘90s gave us The Basketball Diaries, Rushmore, 10 Things I Hate About You, and American Pie. But I think the movie that paved the way for stuff like Gossip Girl, Young Royals, 13 Reasons Why, Elite, Class, Euphoria, Maxton Hall, Hierarchy, and Untamed Royals was the cult classic, Cruel Intentions. It had adult actors playing high schoolers. It was filled to the brim with the risque stuff. And there was a lot of backstabbing and drugs involved. Since this particular subgenre of teen dramas is all the rage now,...

Mrs. Doubtfire & Jumanji Streaming Now on Tubi
Image
Fans of Robin Williams will be able to sit down and enjoy two of his much-loved movies from the 1990s thanks to Mrs. Doubtfire and Jumanji joining the Tubi library. The comedy movies are among the most beloved of Williams career, and now another generation can discover his genius for themselves without having to spend a dime.

In 1993, Williams gave one of his greatest comedy performances in Mrs. Doubtfire, playing divorcee Daniel, who disguises himself as a nanny in order to be able to see his children. While there are those who will say the movie is dated, it is hard to see the film as anything other than a hilarious, and often poignant, story about the lengths a parent will go to in order to be close to their children. In contrast, 1995s Jumanji is a rollicking adventure comedy in which Williams plays Alan Parrish, a man who has...
