Slayer are reigning once again, as the thrash legends played their first concert in five years on Sunday night (September 22nd) at Riot Fest in Chicago.
The headlining performance at Douglass Park featured a career-spanning, 20-song set that didn’t stray too far from Slayer’s setlists on their farewell tour in 2019.

After kicking off with the ominous “South of Heaven,” the band immediately delved into Reign in Blood with a rendition of deep cut “Reborn” — the first performance of the song since 2014. From there, each era of Slayer was represented, highlighted by staples such as “Repentless,” “Seasons in the Abyss,” “Hell Awaits,” and “213” (for the first time since 1998).
A final four-song volley ended the set climatically: “Mandatory Suicide” into “Raining Blood,” “Black Magic,” and a finale of “Angel of Death.”

The number of Hollywood feuds is practically unfathomable, and it's not always easy to keep up with the latest beef. Though problems often arise between co-stars when the cameras turn off, disagreements have been known to happen between directors and actors. The tabloids had a field day with Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland during their notorious relationship, a distraction that caused a lot of tension on Steven Spielberg's Hook set in 1991. Spielberg accused Roberts of poor behavior on set, but it's almost hard to imagine when looking back at both of their careers because neither of them seems to have endured any further instances of that nature since.
These types of feuds are notorious, however, with one of the most well-known being the heated tensions that flared between Kramer vs. Kramer costars Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep. Hoffman a noted Method actor verbally and physically harassed Streep, later confessing...

Waxwork Records is releasing a remastered vinyl of the pulsating music to Dario Argento's Tenebrae. Much like Argento's films, the music by Claudio Simonetti, Fabio Pignatelli, and Massimo Morante encapsulates the overstimulating of the senses. The vinyl score comes in two discs: a deep red vinyl and a silver vinyl, and we have a look at the full list of details and packaging artwork for the anticipated release:
Tenebrae Vinyl Score: "Waxwork Records is thrilled to present the complete soundtrack vinyl release of Dario Argento’s Tenebrae. Scored by three former members of Goblin in 1982 (Claudio Simonetti, Fabio Pignatelli, and Massimo Morante), the synth driven score makes its definitive and expanded vinyl debut. Waxwork is excited to offer the most comprehensive version of the soundtrack album on vinyl to one of the most important Giallo films ever made.

The Grand Experiment
He said I alone can solve it all:
The Mexicans will take the fall,Rapists and murderers one and all. I'll keep them out with a beautiful wall.
He claimed Muslims on the Jersey ShoreCheered 9/11 with a roar.So he proposed to even the scoreBy turning away refugees from our door.
He picked off his rivals one by oneWith insults from his verbal gun.A playground bully in his roots; Now some of the vanquished lick his boots.
Party leaders professed surprise; But said not a word as they saw him rise.Their fifty-year history brought us here:Filled with whispered expletives like nigger, and queer.
They acted as if they didn't knowThat his campaign was a toxic showAnd didn't believe he’d continue to crowWhile eager crowds watched, faces aglow.
Now their surprise has turned to dismay,But the leaders still have little to say.

Well, hello there! While it seems like well nigh everyone has got a proof of concept reel floating around for the film they want to make - many of which mostly provide arguments about why they shouldn't - the simple fact is that if you've got a good idea and the skills to pull it off there's nothing at all that makes a more convincing argument.Cue up German helmer Peter Thorwarth (Bang Boom Bang, also the writer of Dannis Gansel's The Wave) and his proposed feature Blood Red Sky. Picture, if you will, Die Hard on a plane with vampires and I think you'll agree that this is a concept that could go somewhere. Then throw in this just released proof of concept reel produced by...

Jaws from James Bond
One movie character who scared me as a child was Jaws, the shiny-toothed James Bond villain. Those silver teeth freaked me out, big time – I remember the early sequence from The Spy Who Loved Me was particularly chilling: Jaws lures a defenceless older man into a trap, and proceeds to bite into his neck, killing him. While we're shown no violence, the whole scene terrified me: the way Jaws walked slowly towards the man in a knowing, menacing way, and the idea of him simply biting the man to death (though at least he had the courtesy to stun the victim first).
Being bitten by Jaws isn't like being bitten by a vampire – he drinks no blood. Instead, he just seems to sink those artificial teeth into flesh and tear a hole big enough to cause fatal bleeding. Whenever I'd watch that scene, it made me deeply uncomfortable,...

Second and final part of our analysis of neo-noir classic The Grifters (1990, directed by Stephen Frears). Since the film’s costume designer Richard Hornung died in 1995, we asked his assistant costume designer on the project, Mark Bridges, for his own recollections (Part 1 Here).
We pick up the story as Lily (Angelica Huston) is confronted by her gangster employer Bobo (Pat Hingle). In fact we had a peek at Lily’s next outfit when she admits her son Roy (John Cusack) to hospital during the first act. It is a clean white scoop neck shift dress accessorised with tortoiseshell sunglasses and, seemingly without explanation, later a brown belt. White is an empty colour and on Lily it also implies loneliness and vulnerability, the latter of which she exudes during her conformation with Bobo. Proving that a dress is never just a dress on film, Mark Bridges explains the origins of this...

If we do nothing else here at FEARnet, we will make sure Dexter fans eat well.
What’s the perfect follow up to “Fried Eggs” ala Dexter? These bloody Dexter cupcakes. New York’s Magnolia Bakery (which is super delicious in case you’ve never been there) sliced and diced their classic red velvet cupcake recipe with pieces of candy broken glass and red syrup to create these cupcakes for the Season 7 Dexter premiere.
While the original Magnolia Bakery recipe is kept under wraps, buried deep inside their walls, we found several fans that were willing to sacrifice their hands to recreate this killer treat. The step-by-step recipe below is from domesticingenue.com, read the entire post here. The broken glass is surprisingly easy to make.
Ingredients
Cupcakes:
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cup...

The 24-year-old actress discussed her beginnings as an actress in a new interview and revealed that one of her very first auditions was for ‘Twilight!’ Can you even imagine her as Bella?
In a new interview, Lily Collins admitted that while she was trying to get her acting career off the ground she actually auditioned for the role of Bella Swan in Twilight. Of course, she was beaten out by Kristen Stewart, but we wonder if Lily would have made an even better Bella!
Lily Collins Auditioned For Bella Swan
Lily told Crave, “Yeah, one of my first auditions actually was for Twilight which is really funny now thinking about it.” She definitely looks the part with her dark hair, red lips, and pale skin. However, it’s hard — no, impossible — to imagine anyone else but K-Stew caught up in a love triangle with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

I gave Lucio Fulci the hallowed God of Horror treatment and now it is time to give Herschell Gordon Lewis the Titan of Trash treatment. Herschell Gordon Lewis is a name that will conjure up many a smile on the face of trash fans. I first came across his films back in the 1980s when I was a child and I stayed up late. On Channel Four there was a show called The Incredibly Strange Film Show with Jonathan Ross interviewing Lewis about his work. They showed footage of The Wizard of Gore and I nearly crapped my pants (I was about 8/9 years old).
Over the years I found out more about The Godfather of Gore and his works and I fell in love with them – their shoddy direction, whacked out scores, 5th rate acting, outrageous gore and lunatic humour produce a heady brew which is infectious for lovers of...
