Bridget Fonda is the daughter of Peter Fonda, the granddaughter of Henry Fonda, and the niece of Jane Fonda, so it only seemed natural that she would become an actor. She started appearing on stage as a girl and appeared in "Easy Rider" with her father when she was only five years old.
Fonda would go on to study method acting at the famed Lee Strassberg Theater. She started appearing in films only two years after graduating at NYU. Acting was in her blood and it seemed like she never considered doing anything else. From 1988 to 2002, Fonda appeared in dozens of high-profile Hollywood films, and was nominated for two Golden Globes and an Emmy. She retired unexpectedly in 2002 and hasn't been seen on screen since. Throughout the 1990s, however, Fonda was something of a cinematic "It" girl, appearing in raucous comedies, dramatic indies, intense crime films, and a few of Sam Raimi's productions.

Week three of “Dancing with the Stars” brought “Motown Night,” in which the celebrities performed new dance styles — mostly foxtrots — to songs like “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, “You Can’t Hurry Love” by The Supremes and “I Want You Back” by The Jackson 5. So who busted a move, and whose moves were busted? Follow along below with our live blog for all the minute-by-minute developments and commentary as the night progresses.

It’s Motown Night on “Dancing with the Stars” this week and nothing says “Motown” more than… Michael Strahan. The “Good Morning America” co-anchor will guest-judge the remaining 12 couples’ routines to soul hits.
Prepare yourself for a whole lotta foxtrots. Half of the dances are foxtrots and the other six are two quicksteps, one cha-cha, one tango, one rumba and one jive. Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach have the jive, marking the second consecutive week they are the only couple assigned a particular dance style (last week was rumba). Tptb are really testing out his extra vertebrae, huh?
After sitting out last week due to Covid-19, Artem Chigvintsev is back in the ballroom this week with Charity Lawson.
See the full list below.
Tyson Beckford and Jenna Johnson: foxtrot (“Master Blaster [Jammin’]” by Stevie Wonder)
Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy: foxtrot (“My Guy” by Mary Wells)

Mary Wilson, the celebrated singer, businesswoman and activist who co-founded the 1960s hit machine The Supremes as a 15-year-old Detroit teenager and was the group’s longest serving member, died Monday at her home in Henderson, Nevada. She was 76.
Her publicist confirmed the news to CBS on Monday night. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Born in Mississippi in 1944, Wilson moved to Detroit as a child and in elementary school became close friends with future Supreme Florence Ballard. The two would form the pop vocal group The Primettes in 1959 along with Diana Ross. Originally a quartet, the group was solidified as a trio after signing to Motown Records in 1961 and changing their name to The Supremes.

As The Supremes sang in 1966, "You Can't Hurry Love"—and Ariana Grande and Mac Miller are proof that the song's message still rings true. The 23-year-old "Everyday" singer graces the cover of Cosmopolitan's April issue, in which she discusses her six-month relationship with the rapper. "I met him when I was 19," says Grande, who first collaborated with Miller on "The Way" in 2013 before teaming up for the duet "My Favorite Part" in 2016. "We have loved and adored and respected each other since the beginning, since before we even met, just because we were fans of each other's talent." Four years ago, Grande was dating YouTube comedian Jai Brooks....

Genesis have never been one of the coolest bands to admit to being a fan of, despite huge popularity and enduring albums.
From their super progressive rock era of Peter Gabriel, to their stadium rock chartbuster period of Phil Collins, Genesis are definitely one of the UK's biggest rock bands with a rather unique story.
The classic early 1970s lineup of Gabriel, Collins, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Steve Hackett have now reunited for a special documentary, discussing their path from the late 1960s to now. The film also contains remastered concert footage from throughout their career.
Before it is screened on BBC Two in the autumn, here are just eight things we learnt from watching the upcoming film.
1. Move over Lady Gaga, Peter Gabriel has done it already
Footage from Genesis's gigs in the early to mid-1970s reminds casual fans just how outlandish some of Gabriel's attire was at times.

Well, stop in the name of love: Diana Ross is spending this very special day turning 69 years old, which I take as a thrilling compliment to the fight for gay marriage.
What's the divine lady's greatest moment eveeeer?
In terms of singles, I'm most devoted to Diana's "Upside Down," "It's My House," "Love Hangover," "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," and, in the realm of the Supremes, "Come See About Me" and "You Can't Hurry Love," which she was singing on The Ed Sullivan Show when her glistening, Faberge Egg-sized earring crashed to the floor.
If we're talking about Diana's best film, you have to ease on down the road past The Wiz and choose Lady Sings the Blues.
But if we're talking about Diana's Greatest moment, I say it exists at the confluence of film, music, fashion, utter camp, and sheer Diana fabness. While others rally on the steps of the Supreme Court,...

Who made what grade on The Sing-Off this week? Let's get right to it...
Round One: Today's Hits
Deltones - "Edge of Glory" - The team had trouble with arrangements and choreography. The stress even kicked in with one girl causing drama by getting sick. The group had a strong opening, but the song's elements were really made for multiple part harmonies. There were some moments in the chorus where some parts in the background weren't the best and the lead vocals had moments of trouble when notes couldn't be sustained. My Grade: B-
Pentatonix (pictured) - "Your Love is My Drug" - The group really wanted to remix the song and I was afraid when I heard elements of dubstep in the package. When they performed I had to laugh at the faux-Ke$ha. I'm not sure the arrangement was the best because the falsetto sounded funny. The bridge and afterwards was the best.

These Battle Rounds on 'The Voice' (Tue., 10Pm Et on NBC) have certainly created some memorable duets. But sometimes the union of voices creates a performance that's so bizarre it's virtually indescribable.
It was definitely the case with Serabee and Dia Frampton this week. They were paired up by Blake Shelton, and while it could have possibly worked, Serabee seemed to do all she could to make 'You Can't Hurry Love' unrecognizable. If Frampton hadn't been singing the actual melody, it would have been completely ridiculous.
It was as if Serabee thought that by singing runs and by treating Dia as a back-up singer so she could perform vocal acrobatics, she was going to impress the judges. Instead, she left them scratching their heads.

"American Idol" top 9

Last week on "American Idol," it was all Elton John, all the time. On Wednesday (April 6), the contestants get to open up more than one songbook, because this week's theme is based on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Songs that Shaped Rock & Roll exhibit. They'll be able to cover everyone from Jefferson Airplane to Jane's Addiction, the Moody Blues to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the 5 Satins to the 4 Seasons, plus Kings B.B., Carole and Ben E.

There was a time when a Motown-themed evening was an "American Idol" institution. Kelly Clarkson delivered such a dizzying take on Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's "You're All I Need to Get By" in season one that a bewildered Simon Cowell tried on a Southern accent and told her, "As they say in Texas, y'all did a great job!" Ruben Studdard soared with the Four Tops the next year, and then Fantasia, also trying on a Gaye tune, wowed the judges on her way to the title.
Future seasons would ditch Motown as a whole for specific artists like Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross, but there remains a vast trove of "Idol" history for singers to mine as both cautionary tales and I-hope-i-can-sound-so-damn-good aspirations.

Phil Collins is hanging up his drumsticks for good. The 60-year old former Genesis drummer and Patrick Bateman favorite has had hearing troubles as well as nerve damage, according to THR. Collins was blunt in an interview, "I don't think anyone's going to miss me," he said, adding, "I look at the MTV Music Awards and I think, 'I can't be in the same business as this.'"
The 80's hit maker's blatant disdain for the music industry got me thinking about his own work over the decades, much of which makes us all cringe. But Collins, who stands among the most successful recording artists of all time, has such an enormous body of work and influence that it's easy to pick out a few things to love him for (even if we're laughing at some of it too).

The Black Eyed Peas brought sexy back for the first time since Janet and Justin's infamous, well, you know… during this year's Super Bowl Half-Time Show, becoming the first time since 2004 that a half-time performer wasn't also a member of the Aarp.
But over the years, we've seen some memorable and some not-so-memorable performances from past and present Top 40 favorites. When the stage is constantly the biggest viewing audience in television history, who's made the best of their airtime?
10. Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Toni Braxton (2000): Disney used to put on plenty of the Super Bowl Half-Time Show spectacles, and mainly used the event to advertise new attractions at its parks. The last Disney-produced show in 2000 featured music from its nightly Epcot nighttime show, as well as performances from Aguilera (when she wasn't messing up the National Anthem), Enrique Iglesias, and Phil Collins performing a track from the prior year's animated hit "Tarzan.

A Conversation with Phil Collins Mike Ragogna: It seems like your new soul album, Going Back, has been years in the waiting, especially after your having such a big solo hit with The Supremes' "You Can't Hurry Love" in the eighties. What inspired you to do an album like this now? Phil Collins: Well, it's something that I've always wanted to do, of course. Sometimes those things get kind of put on the back burner and you never get around to doing them. I listened to this stuff when I was a teenager, basically. I used to go up to London from the suburbs to clubs to listen to bands. One particular band was The Action, and they were a big mod group that played all this stuff as well as Atlantic groups like Don Covay, Sam & Dave and things like...

While everybody else showed improvement on their second performance on "Dancing with the Stars" on Monday night, September 27, Michael Bolton has been panned for his bizarre routine. In fact, the "When a Man Loves a Woman" hitmaker has been said to have presented the worst Jive in the 11 seasons of the show.
Taking the dance floor with partner Chelsie Hightower, the 57-year-old singer kicked off his routine by crawling out of a dog house and ended it with a dog bone in his mouth. After his performance, judge Bruno Tonioli scolded him, "You should take the bone and go back into the dog house. This is the worst jive in 11 seasons."
Judge Len Goodman didn't dig his number as well. He said, "I don't think the world is ready for your interpretation of the jive .... it probably needed a pooper scooper at the end." Carrie Ann Inaba chimed in, "Unfortunately,...

The stakes were higher this week as the contenders took on either the quickstep or the jive on "Dancing with the Stars," requiring both stamina and sharp footwork. Sarah Palin was in the audience cheering on daughter Bristol, and we have the evening's breakdown! NBA star Rick Fox and pro partner Cheryl Burke were the first out of the gate, dancing an energetic jive to Zz Top's "Tush." Judge Len Goodman praised, "It was compact, it was fun, it was full of energy -- you have become a contender here. That was really good." Carrie Ann Inaba agreed that Rick is a contender, but said, "For a big guy to do the jive is not easy, but I thought last week you were better." And Bruno Tonioli said, "The jive is one of the hardest dances. … You actually did it. … For week two, well done." All three judges awarded the couple a 7 each,...

The "Dancing With the Stars" performance episode is just hours away, so that means we can finally get a hint of song choices -- and the big reveal includes an interesting coincidence for Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.
TMZ reports the Situation and partner Karina Smirnoff will Quickstep to Yolanda Be Cool's "We No Speak Americano." Now, this could just be the natural synergy of the show's resident party animal and a club anthem -- or could the folks at "Dwts" have possibly seen his "Jersey Shore" co-stars' recent YouTube video?
Pauly D, DJ and lover of homemade video, recently gathered Ronnie, Vinny and Sammi for a informally choreographed -- though none-the-less amazing -- dance to the same song. It's mostly just the obligatory fist pumps, claps and kicks, but it's fairly hypnotizing. Have a look for yourself:
Is it too much to hope some of their moves make their way into tonight's Quckstep?...

What should the "American Idol" Top 10 sing for the R&B/Soul week? Make your picks here.
Even though Usher kinda spilled the "Idol" mentoring beans over the weekend, it was officially announced during the Wednesday, March 24 results show that he would be mentoring the Top 10 for R&B/Soul week.
We love that R&B/Soul reaches way back into Motown because some of the non-Michael Lynche singers need some oldies thrown in there.
The song list is available here, but here is the whole list:
* A Song For Momma - Boyz II Men
* Ain't No Mountain High Enough - Diana Ross
* Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing - Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
* Ain't Too Proud to Beg - The Temptations
* Angel of Mine - Monica
* At Your Best You Are Love - Aaliya
* Baby I Need Your Loving - The Four Tops
* Back At One - Brian McKnight...
