One Of Macaulay Culkin's Earliest Roles Was In A Beloved '80s Crime Thriller Series
Image
Macaulay Culkin might not be as big a presence in Hollywood as he once was, but the actor will forever remain beloved to anybody that grew up in the '90s. That's not only due to the fact he played one of the most legendary on-screen scamps in Kevin McCallister for two "Home Alone" movies, but also because he will always be the kid with a McDonalds in his own house, thanks to him playing the title role in 1994's "Richie Rich." His endearing cheekiness equally paired so well with John Candy's Buck Russell in the sometimes-overlooked but perpetually charming "Uncle Buck."

Macaulay Culkin shot to fame in the late 80s with his appearance in Rocket Gibraltar. In an interview back in 2018, Culkin claimed that the abuse was so severe that he still carried scars from it. This is what, according to him, led to...

How Columbia Pictures Kept Its Cool for a Century
Image
On a recent July afternoon, the ever-mercurial Tom Rothman arrives in good spirits for a tour of Columbia Pictures’ archives in honor of the studio’s 100th anniversary. “Ask a lot of questions, because after this, I must go back to work,” says Rothman, Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group chairman. “This is way more fun than getting yelled at by agents.”

Naturally, Rothman — one of Hollywood’s longest-running studio chiefs, who’s been in his current gig since 2015 and has overseen the most profitable period in Columbia’s recent history — starts off by noting the costumes from marquee franchise Spider-Man. By his calculation, the collection houses more than 30 superhero suits at the archive from various Spider-Man movies.

“I recognize this very well — it was worth $2 billion at the box office to us,” says Rothman, pointing to a suit worn by Tom Holland in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Both that...
