Karen Cynthia “Kc” Fox, an Emmy-nominated set decorator and founding member of the Set Decorators Society of America, died from pancreatic cancer on Aug. 28 at her Los Angeles home. She was 70.

The Sdsa confirmed Fox’s death on its official website on Friday, writing: “Known for her joie de vivre, keen artistic eye, belly laugh, and clever wit, she was beloved by her crew and colleagues. K.C. generously offered career advice, mentored through the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and served on many Boards and Committees at the Sdsa and AMPAS.”

Fox worked on the design for film, TV and commercial productions during her 40-year career. She served as the set decorator for more than 130 episodes of “Criminal Minds” from 2013 to 2020, as well as worked on other shows such as “Shameless,” “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.,” “Jesse” and “United States of Tara.”

“RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” continued its 9th season on Friday, May 24 with the third episode featuring returning queens from seasons past. Paris, May 17 (Ians) By modern standards, Paul Verhoevens 1992 sex noir drama Basic Instinct might not seem that scandalous, but it was a much different story when it first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, Michael Douglas, the films male star, said on Wednesday, reports Variety

"Seeing a lot of those sex scenes on the Grand Palais’ huge screen, it was a little overwhelming for a lot of people. We had a very quiet dinner afterwards, everyone was sort of digesting it," Douglas recalled (the cast included Sharon Stone and Jeanne Tripplehorn).

Wall Street, Basic Instinct and Fatal Attraction star Michael Douglas will receive an honorary Palme d’Or for lifetime achievement at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Michael Douglas will receive the Palme d’or d’honneur at the opening ceremony for the 76th Festival de Cannes on May 16, where the festival will pay tribute to his “brilliant career [and] his engagement for cinema.”

Douglas first appeared on Cannes’ legendary red carpet steps in 1979, together with Jane Fonda, Jack Lemmon, and director James Bridges, for the premiere of The China Syndrome. He returned for the 1992 competition bow of Paul Verhoeven’s Basic Instinct, the film that rocketed Sharon Stone to superstardom, and was back a year later for the Cannes competition premiere of Joel Schumacher’s Falling Down. Douglas’ last official Cannes appearance was for Steven Soderbergh’s 2013 Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra, where he played the famous pianist.

Her latest documentary, “Little Richard: I Am Everything,” in theaters on April 21, seeks to remind a new generation of his legacy.

Cortés says the documentary draws parallels with “All In: The Fight for Democracy” which she co-directed with Liz Garbus, in which she followed Stacy Abrams on her political campaign. Speaking with Variety, she said, “Both of these films are talking about issues that are political hot buttons. There are states where Black and queer history are under attack, and they’re passing laws against the teaching of this history. We see those are very important parts of Richard’s origin story and of rock ‘and’n’ roll.

Among the Emmy categories that “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” is looking to get nominated in, Best Movie/Limited Actor for its star Daniel Radcliffe is right at the top along with Best TV Movie. The Roku Channel’s hit telefilm may seem like an unconventional nominee, but there are several promising factors that are working in his favor.

The fact that the movie is a flat-out comedy could be viewed as something of an obstacle for it to overcome. But, performances from comedic-dramas have scored noms here, including Jeff Bridges for “A Dog Year” (2010) and Hugh Grant for “A Very English Scandal” (2019). “RuPaul’s Drag Race” has had many memorable guest judges for its season premiere: Lady Gaga in Season 9, Christina Aguilera in Season 10, Nicki Minaj in Season 12 and Ariana Grande in the currently airing Season 15, to name a few.

But Britney Spears — whose discography has been a lip sync mainstay on the reality competition series (four times in Season 13 alone!) — has yet to make an appearance on the show, despite numerous efforts.

“Of course,” replied “Drag Race” creator and executive producer Fenton Bailey when asked if Spears has been invited to judge. “Many stars are approached for ‘Drag Race.’ And it hasn’t been possible – whether her schedule or people or her own desires, you know?”

David Jude Jolicoeur, known widely as Trugoy the Dove and one of the founding members of the Long Island hip hop trio De La Soul, has died. He was 54.

His representative Tony Ferguson confirmed the reports Sunday. No other information was immediately available.

In recent years, Jolicoeur, had said he was battling congestive heart failure, living with a LifeVest machine affixed to his person. De La Soul was part of the hip-hop tribute at the Grammy Awards last week, but Trugoy was not onstage with his fellow bandmates.

Tributes poured in on social media shortly after the news broke Sunday.

Michael Travis, the costume designer who created the outlandish and flamboyant outfits for Liberace's stage extravaganzas, died Thursday at his home in Studio City. He was 86.
