Warner Bros. Movies including 'Dungeons & Dragons' Available on YouTube for Free
Image
In a bold and time-relevant move that is sure to delight movie fans, Warner Bros. Entertainment has made 31 of its full-length movies available for free on its YouTube channels, including 2000's Dungeons & Dragons, and the Jackie Chan movie Mr. Nice Guy. The refreshing approach to content distribution, however, is a strategy that aims to boost visibility and generate digital ad revenue, with the additional benefit of making a diverse range of cinematic gems accessible to a wider audience.

According to Variety, ever since 2025 began, the entertainment giant has quietly been dropping movies on its Warner Bros.-owned YouTube channels, all available to stream for free. Of course, the movies still include ads for those who do not own a YouTube Premium subscription. These movies include a mix of genres and eras, with titles like the 1935 adventure Mutiny on the Bounty, the 2002 sci-fi comedy starring Eddie Murphy, The Adventures of Pluto Nash,...

Over 30 Warner Bros. movies available to stream free on YouTube
Image
Warner Bros. Discovery may not be ready to launch a free ad-supported streaming TV (Fast) service of its own just yet, but the company is on the lookout for ways to boost its digital ad revenue. Its latest tactic is to add free movies to YouTube. Wbd has put more than 30 full-length films on the social video platform to stream at no cost, as long as you don’t mind putting up with a few commercials.

Key Details: Movies featuring Kevin Bacon, Chevy Chase, Robert De Niro, and other stars are streaming free on YouTube. None of the films are currently available to stream on the company’s platform Max. Wbd licenses plenty of content to Fast platforms, but has made no public progress on its own Fast platform. Sign Up $9.99+ / month max via prime video

The list of movies from Wbd that are now available to stream free on YouTube can be seen here.

Warner Bros. Releases 31 Free Movies on YouTube—Here’s the Full List
Image
Movie lovers, rejoice! Warner Bros. has quietly made 31 full-length movies available to stream for free on YouTube. This move allows viewers to enjoy classic and lesser-known films without a subscription, though they do come with ads unless you have YouTube Premium.

Over the years, Warner Bros. has experimented with different ways to make money from its vast catalog of films. It launched FilmStruck, a subscription streaming service, in 2018, but shut it down less than a year later. Since then, the company has focused on licensing movies to free, ad-supported platforms like Roku and Tubi.

Now, Warner Bros. is trying a new approach—releasing movies directly on YouTube. This move allows the studio to generate revenue through digital ads while making films more accessible to a wider audience.

The selection of movies is quite diverse, covering different genres and decades. Some of the highlights include:

Classic films: Mutiny on the Bounty...

Warner Bros. Releases 31 Full-Length Movies on Its YouTube Channels, Streaming for Free
Image
Over the years, Warner Bros. has tried to monetize its catalog of older movies through different subscription streaming services, including FilmStruck — which it shut down less than a year after it launched in 2018.

Now, Warner Bros. Entertainment has quietly taken a new approach to bringing its content to YouTube to farm its film catalog for digital ad revenue.

Since the start of 2025, the company has released 31 movies on Warner Bros.-owned YouTube channels, all available for free. The movies include ads, unless you are a YouTube Premium subscriber. Warner Bros. has published a YouTube playlist with the free movies, available at this link.

The titles are varied and cut across genres, with some films on the list dating back decades. The movies include “Mutiny on the Bounty” starring Marlon Brando, “The Adventures of Pluto Nash” starring Eddie Murphy, “Oh, God!” featuring George Burns in the titular role, “The Mission” starring Robert De Niro,...

Warner Bros. Added Films With Liam Neeson & Marlon Brando to YouTube That are Free to Watch
Image
In a very uncharacteristic move by Warner Bros., the studio has uploaded 31 movies to stream on YouTube for free. There is a perception that those who are watching a movie via a streaming service over going to the theater, is that it's free to do, despite paying a monthly subscription. Those streaming platforms are more costly than ever, and people are starting to make cuts to what could be a must-have service. Yet, a movie on YouTube that can be watched for free with no rental fee or any commercials, is something Warner Bros. is looking to offer movie fans with titles like the first Dungeons & Dragons, Mutiny on the Bounty, and the Jackie Chan-led Mr. Nice Guy.

Warner Bros. Entertainment's YouTube page made a playlist of movies that can be watched for free, some of which are critically acclaimed hits. These include Palme d'Or winner The Mission starring Robert DeNiro,...

Wtf Happened to Beetlejuice?
Image
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Bee–ah, that was a close one! A massive success upon release, Beetlejuice went through a strange and unusual production that saw multiple rewrites and firings, not to mention the dodging of some seriously questionable casting choices. But through the terrific performances by its cast and creative skirting around a small budget, the movie became one of the best horror-comedies ever, worthy of a sequel that has been in development hell for over three decades.

So let’s open up the handbook for the recently deceased and shake, shake, shake senora because it’s showtime! Let’s to find out…Wtf Happened to this movie?!

Following the massive success of Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, which pulled in $40 million on a $7 million budget, Tim Burton had his pick of what his next project would be. One thing he knew, it wouldn’t be talking horse movie Hot to Trot.

Amy Schumer in Inside Amy Schumer (2013)
Isn't It Romantic Trailer Traps Rebel Wilson and Adam Devin in a Rom-Com
Amy Schumer in Inside Amy Schumer (2013)
Isn't It Romantic is striking similar shades to this year's earlier Amy Schumer comedy I Feel Pretty, only it's not garnering the same kind of controversy. Rebel Wilson stars in the movie as a young woman who has become disillusioned with love only to find herself trapped in a romantic comedy. Today, Warner Bros. has released the first trailer.

Isn't It Romantic looks harmless enough, and is quick to call out its own gay stereotypes as part of the plot before anyone gets too riled up. It's a true storybook romance in every sense of the word. It's a romantic comedy about being trapped in a cliched romantic comedy. They don't make many any more, but these so-called 'chick-flicks' used to be the bread and butter of the 80s and 90s cinematic landscape. Only in 2018, you can't really say chick flick any more. And the term pink movie is equally frowned upon.

Doc Corner: 'Hot to Trot'
Returning from an impromptu break in order to move to a new city, start a new job, and move into a new place without internet. We're definitely hoping to be back on the weekly schedule looking at documentaries as we head into awards season. I'm exhausted already! - Glenn Dunks

The strangest thoughts can go through your head as a movie plays in front of you. As I was watching Gail Freedman’s affectionately-made Hot to Trot about competitive same-sex ballroom dancing, I began to think about the evolution of documentary and the representation of gay stories in it. There isn’t anything in the film that really justifies such lofty thoughts, but I couldn’t help wondering what audiences 20 years ago would have made of it and how simple stories are done a disservice by expectations placed on non-fiction moviemaking...

‘Hot to Trot’ Film Review: Same-Sex Ballroom Dancing Doc Has Two Left Feet
Competitive ballroom dancing is a somewhat small and circumscribed world, and so of course the world of competitive same-sex ballroom dancing — as viewed in Gail Freedman’s uncertain and meandering documentary “Hot to Trot” — is even smaller and more circumscribed.

Freedman follows several dancers here as they compete in the April Follies, an Lgbt ballroom dance competition that has been running in Oakland, Calif., since 2003, and the Gay Games, which happens every four years. Most of her footage was shot in 2012 and 2013, and so she attempts to build a narrative out of the changes in her protagonists’ lives over time.

Ernesto Palma is a dancer from Costa Rica, and he is first shown rehearsing and competing with Robbie Tristan, a dancer from Hungary. Tristan says that they are both viewed as divas, but Palma is the one who has trouble getting to rehearsal on time and following through on instructions.

John Candy, Dabney Coleman, and Bobcat Goldthwait in Parole de cheval (1988)
Your Kentucky Derby pop culture party planner: Because you need something else to do besides watch horses run for two minutes
John Candy, Dabney Coleman, and Bobcat Goldthwait in Parole de cheval (1988)
Old sports writers (mainly Pardon the Interruption host and professional crank Tony Kornheiser) like to remind anybody listening that for most of the pre-World War II era, the biggest sports in America were baseball, boxing, and horse racing.

If you really want to get your 1930s on this weekend, you’ll have that chance: The baseball season is in full swing (Let’S Go Mets!), there’s a huge title fight in the boxing world between Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto, and on Saturday evening, the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby begins.

The Kentucky Derby is an excellent excuse for a party,...

SXSW Dialogue: Bobcat Goldthwait on Failing, Rush Limbaugh, Useless 3D and His Upcoming '80s Horror Movie
I was always a Bobcat Goldthwait fan so it never surprised me when he started making unique indie movies. Of course as a kid I liked the Police Academy series where his character went from bad guy to new recruit and citizen on patrol. I even liked the talking horse movie Hot to Trot. I sought him out at my local small town comedy club to hear his irreverent standup, about the then big news of videotaped police beatings and heroin chic. Goldthwait’s latest film is God Bless America, the story of disgruntled cubicle grunt Frank (Joel Murray) and teenager Roxy (Tara Lynne Barr) on a killing spree. Their targets are the mean people who make society worse, the music show judges making fun of bad singers, the Super Sweet entitled teenagers, and shock jocks. The film sold out of the...

Bobcat Goldthwait’s God Bless America Trailer
After rising to fame as a stand-up comedian in the 1980s and starring in several '80s comedies including the Police Academy series, Scrooged, and Hot to Trot, Bobcat Goldthwait re-invented himself as a director in the early '90s with Shakes the Clown. He waited another decade before directing his next film, but now he seems to be focusing his career almost exclusively on being a filmmaker. His 2009 flick World's Greatest Dad starring Robin Williams was probably his most well-received film to date, and now he has returned with another dark comedy entitled God Bless America. The premise almost seems like a cross between James Gunn's Super and Mike Judge's Idiocracy. A 45-year-old man named Frank (played by Joel Murray) snaps one day after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. He has been witnessing all the stupidity surrounding him until finally his rage boils over and he...

Bobcat Goldthwait's Next Movie Will Kill The Kids Of MTV's My Super Sweet 16
It.s a shame, but probably still true, that most people still know Bobcat Goldthwait best as that comedian from the 80s with the funny voice, or maybe as that little guy who was in Hot to Trot. But quietly, while nobody was looking, Bobcat has actually turned himself into a legitimate Hollywood director. His 2009 movie World.s Greatest Dad starred longtime friend Robin Williams, and received a surprising amount of critical acclaim, especially for a movie about a dad dealing with his son.s death by auto erotic asphyxiation. Now he.s on to his next edgy, offensive, possibly really good project. He.s talked before about several different ideas which he wanted to turn into features, but it sounds like this one, a movie called God Bless America, is the one that.s getting funding. It.s backed by Richard Kelly.s Darko Pictures and in an appearance...

For those of us who love Bruce Lee’s influence on modern Asian cinema you’ve probably seen many incarnations of program in some form or another. Like an 80’s DJ who is ultimately limited by the fact that there is a finite number of tracks they can play, there seems to have been so much overlap with footage we’ve seen with regard to the man who was wickedly charismatic and destined for far more than we were given.
