Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, and Jessica Chastain in Des hommes sans loi (2012)
Interview: Shia Labeouf
Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, and Jessica Chastain in Des hommes sans loi (2012)
Shia Labeouf knows from personal experience that the outlaw legend of the Bondurant Brothers - violent hillbilly gangsters who ran a lucrative moonshine operation in Prohibition era Virginia - is alive and well.

Shia Labeouf with Mia Wasikowska in Lawless

In fact, he says, the myth surrounding the extraordinary exploits of the close knit family provokes a fierce pride in many of the locals in their home state, as the actor discovered when he was on location in Virginia with director John Hillcoat's stylish gangster saga, Lawless.

"The Bondurants have mythic status in Virginia," he says. "In Virginia people have Bondurant tattoos on them. They are still remembered by the community there. In fact, it's almost like they are still there - you can feel them and their legacy.

"Everyone there knew about them. People would come up to the set and say, 'what are you saying here? Oh,...

Bluegrass Legend Ralph Stanley Records 3 Songs For John Hillcoat's 'The Wettest County'
John Hillcoat and Nick Cave have been joined at the hip ever since the director's first film "Ghosts... of the Civil Dead" (which also starred the Bad Seed) but with "The Wettest County" it looks like the musician--who is again taking on writing and scoring duties--will be getting some help on the soundtrack. Cmt reveals that 84 year-old bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley has recorded three songs for the upcoming film. It seems that Hillcoat is going for some musical authenticity in the Prohibition-era tale led by Tom Hardy, Shia Laboeuf and Jason Clarke as the Bondurant brothers who run a…...

Nick Cave To Rewrite 'The Crow'?
Earlier this year, director Stephen Norrington said that his remake of "The Crow" would begin filming this summer. And while a lead actor has still not been announced, another screenwriter has potentially come on board the project.

According to The Wrap, "The Crow" producer Ed Pressman has indicated that Australian musician Nick Cave has been signed to rewrite the film. Cave has previously written the scripts for "Ghosts... of the Civil Dead" and "The Proposition," in addition to writing an unproduced "Gladiator" sequel at the behest of Russell Crowe and "The Promised Land," which is based upon the Matt Bondurant novel, "The Wettest County in the World."

Back in June, Pressman told MTV News that Norrington's screenplay for "The Crow" was both finished and "terrific." He also indicated that film was in the casting stage.

"[We've got an offer out] to a major actor and things are moving ahead very aggressively, with the aim of doing the film this year,...
