It is a true story

I know that this is a true story. I went to school with the children from the second family. Including 'Sharon' (not her real name). I talked with 'Sharon's' younger brother (who has since passed away) back in the 90's. He told me that 'Sharon' had died in an accident, but did not tell me how or why. When I saw the movie; I cried for days.

By the way.... this did NOT take place during the 70's, and 80's.... more like the 50's, and 60's. It is odd that this story takes place in St. Louis, and in 1965 my family moved from where the actual town where this story originated to Missouri. That blew me away.

The reason that I contacted 'Sharon's' brother back in '94 is because I found out that I was illegally adopted, and I knew that he was a lawyer. I thought that he maybe could help me, but considering everything that he had gone through, I didn't ask.

This movie is a must see. It moved me so much that I want to see it again, but the emotion for me is heartbreaking because I knew, and loved these people.

Great movie, Michele Greene is hot! Would've liked more detail.

Personal: I could've fallen in love with her myself. Shows that a person really can love more than one person - not that it's morally right: it's not. But for the mistress (played by Michele Greene) to love "Lenny" no matter how often he was away shows her commitment - albeit at the expense of Lenny's wife.

Premise/Plot: A married lawyer - Leonard "Lenny" Harik (Robert Foxworth) - with two kids (and one on the way) opens an office less than two hours away from his home. He needs to hire an assistant. He interviews a number of girls - the movie shows him telling one that he must make a "final review" before making his decision. In walks Virginia "Ginny" Brymer (Michele Greene) to apply for the job. Although she was not on the list of approved candidates from the local high school, she is enterprising enough to apply for the position and show a letter of reference from one of the school's faculty.

It is better left at this point for you to watch what happens, but suffice it to say that there are many "positions" these two characters will get themselves in!

Good argument for polygamous marriage????

Incredible how such a thing could happen involving a man of such prominence! I'm sure this was almost incomprehensible back in the '70's and '80's, though not as unthinkable during our times today. The acting is stellar and very believable.

I would highly recommend this movie for viewing as would like to submit that maybe this movie could also be used in an academic discussion or debate regarding the issue of polygamous marriage since this is definitely a hotbed issue during out times.

Of course both wives would need to 'be on-board', but I still feel that this particular story would definitely bring up different thoughts and feelings.

I would say that is is a MUST WATCH movie.
