It is the far future. Most of the entire human race has been wiped out by evil robots called the Jen-Diki and the survivors now resides in a city that has the ability to travel across time and the city constantly travels across time to evade the Jen-Diki whom are bent on their extermination. After a battle with the Jen-Diki, the city again time travels and the city travels back to South Australia in 1988. In the city, a tough warrior named Ballard (Tom Burlinson) and fellow warrior and historian Petra (Carrie Fisher) are sent out of the city to scout the area. In the Australian outback, they meet a beautiful geologist Annie (Nikki Coghill) whom doesn't believe Ballard's story. But, all hell breaks loose when Ballard and Annie are both wrongly arrested for murdering a police officer of a nearby town and local cop McCarthy (Tim Robertson) tampers with Ballard's armband (a tracking device) and McCarthy activates Ballard's armband. Upon learning of Ballard's location, the Jen-Diki also time travel to 1988 and they soon attack the town and they set out to eliminate Ballard and Petra and find the city and wipe out the human survivors and Ballard, Annie and Petra set out to stop them.
