This was the opening-night film at the 1987 Sundance Film Festival. Winona Ryder attended the premiere, which screened at the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City.
When the film aired on NBC on April 16, 1988, the title was changed to "Home Is Where the Heart Is".
The film cast includes Oscar winner Jason Robards and two Oscar nominees: Jane Alexander and Winona Ryder.
