David Corenswet's Dcu Superman stars in a sweet homage to the Man of Steel's earliest cartoons and James Gunn's upcoming Superman movie. Gunn's Superman takes inspiration from storylines such as Kingdom Come and All-Star Superman, as well as the Man of Steel's earliest comic book appearances. The Dcu's version of Superman seems to be aiming for a timeless portrayal of the character, with a somewhat retrofuturistic Metropolis informing his superhero career.

Illustrator and DC fan Dylan Odom shares a fan-made Superman animation on Instagram, starring David Corenswet's Superman as a 1940s cartoon version of the DC hero inspired by the famous 1940s Fleischer Superman animated shorts. The video shows Corenswet's Superman saving the little girl from the trailer, fighting the movie's mystery masked villain, and jumping from the Daily Planet's decorative globe. Smallville remains one of the most beloved comic book TV shows ever made and, for many DC fans, Tom Welling is their Man of Steel and Michael Rosenbaum is the Lex Luthor. There were also several strong female leads, a surprise given when the show was produced.

James Gunn's Superman has been the talk of the town ever since it debuted the jam-packed first trailer earlier this month. But considering, unlike Batman, Superman is a bright and optimistic character, making him dark and brooding didn’t land well among fans, and with Bvs, these issues only aggravated.

Fans of the 2011 sci-fi movie Real Steel will be happy to learn that a possible sequel to the film is constantly a topic of discussion for its director and leading star. Deadpool & Wolverine's Shawn Levy recently disclosed that he and Hugh Jackman still talk about Real Steel 2.

Levy was in attendance at Las Vegas' Cinemacon, where he presented a new Deadpool & Wolverine footage. The filmmaker told Screen Rant at the film industry event about his Real Steel 2 musings with Jackman, "We always talk about Real Steel 2. Because the world won't let us forget, and I'm glad for that," he said. The comment keeps hopes alive for a sequel to the original, which was a modest box-office success, grossing almost $300 million worldwide against its $110 million production budget. As the search for the next Superman picks up faster than a speeding bullet, James Gunn has yet again taken to social media, showing he’s able to leap internet speculation with a single tweet.

Responding to the ever-growing casting rumors of who is closest to landing the role of Superman, James Gunn took to Twitter to…comment about not commenting. In a post from this weekend, the DC head wrote, “For all of you asking, I would never comment on who is or isn’t Auditioning for a role. That’s the actor’s business only & isn’t something I’d make public unless they did it first after the fact (like @GlennHowerton or @ZacharyLevi having auditioned for Star-Lord & being top choices). For now, only one person has been Cast in Superman: Legacy, and it isn’t any of the regular players in the Superman world”, capped off by a merman emoji.

The Hollywood Reporter recently claimed Hoult is one of several actors being looked at to play the iconic supervillain, Lex Luthor. His appearance in the franchise began in X-Men: First Class and came to an end in X-Men: Dark Phoenix in 2019. According to reports, there were talks of a Beast-focused X-Men spinoff film. While a script was drafted, it ultimately went unproduced.
