De plein fouet (1980)

Trivia

De plein fouet

Edit
Debut film of actor Bruce Willis as an extra. He is the man with a hat nearly covering his face entering the restaurant with the yellow-framed windows as Delaney (Sinatra) leaves while trailing Blank. Willis worked as a stand-in for "David Dukes" in the picture.
Final leading role in a feature film of Frank Sinatra.
Nancy Sinatra, daughter of Frank Sinatra, said in her book "Sinatra: An American Legend" (1998), that this picture was one that her father was very excited about.
Brian G. Hutton replaced Roman Polanski as director. Polanski had been hired as director but the Columbia Pictures studio dropped him when the scandal broke about his statutory rape charges. Second billed lead star of the film Faye Dunaway had previously worked with Polanski on Chinatown (1974).
Film critic Janet Maslin in The New York Times said of this movie that the killer "...is supposed to live on West 83d Street, in a plush 41-story modern high-rise building. This is rather baffling, because there are no buildings of that sort anywhere in the neighborhood. The book's setting was on the Upper East Side, near the river, where such buildings do exist, and the film makers' reasons for relocating their story are a mystery...".
