According to a recently shared roadmap, Palworld is getting a proper endgame in 2025 - among many other improvements. The 2025 roadmap, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the official Palworld account yesterday, features a long list of updates the devs intend to add to the game before the end of the year. One of those is an endgame scenario, which shares a bullet point with "World Tree." Beyond that, it's unknown when Palworld's endgame will look like, or when exactly it'll come out (beyond sometime in 2025).

A newly discovered Palworld mod takes everything players know about keeping their Pals happy and thriving and flips it on its head. Palworld launched back in January of this year and quickly rose to popularity as one of the best creature-collector titles next to big names like Pokémon. The seas were anything but smooth for the developers at Pocketpair for a while, but none of those waves knocked the title down, as players still can't seem to get enough.

Found on Nexus Mods, the "Full Sanity" mod created by Eld3rBrain makes managing the happiness, work ethic, and mood of Pals on base a breeze. Sporting over 2 thousand downloads since its original upload on December 25, it appears that fans find the sanity-saver quite useful thus far.

When Pocketpair’s Palworld debuted in Early Access back in January, gamers were drawn to its Pokemon-like creatures dubbed Pals and how they were used for food and as soldiers. The game established itself as the second-most-played title concurrently on Valve’s Steam. Unfortunately, those high player numbers kept decreasing as people completed the available content.

With the debut of its Sakurajima update on June 27, Palworld‘s player count has surged right back up. While it’s still behind the record peak, those daily numbers are heading into six figures. Amidst all that, Palworld‘s community manager has made a statement appreciating players and encouraging them not to engage with trolls.

With the release of the latest update, Palworld‘s concurrent player count currently sits at just over 128,000 people.

Palworld's Sakurajima update brings a massive expansion with a new island, Pals, bosses, raids, items, and increased level cap. Xbox players can look forward to dedicated servers for smoother gameplay in the June 27 release date of the Sakurajima update. New game modes like Arena and Oil Rig Stronghold, a new faction, boss, and raid boss add depth and replayability to Palworld's latest update.

Palworld announced its first major update at Summer Game Fest, and it includes so much content that the team said they weren't able to fit it all in the trailer. While Palworld has been receiving updates since it was released, none of them have been of the same scale that the Sakurajima update will be. Given the size of this update, it's essentially being considered an expansion, thanks to all the content that's coming with it.

The Paldeck entries reveal creepy anecdotes and reveal the dark themes behind the cheerful graphics of the game. From creatures that mummify their victims to those that trap and devour their own offspring, Palworld hides horror under its surface.

Palworld is a survival and monster-taming game, but in some cases, it can feel more like a horror game when some of the Pals can come out of nowhere and cause jump scares. Furthermore, delving into the Paldeck and reading more about some of these Pals can make even the more benign-looking creatures sound a bit horrifying. Even once they have been tamed, some of these Pals might be worth keeping an eye on, although they probably are good for defense.

Pals in Palworld can range from being incredibly cute to serious and useful to have around the base or out adventuring.

Pathing issues with Pals in Palworld limit their efficiency and navigation in bases and the wild. Base design and layout adjustments can minimize pathing problems, but it restricts creativity and the pace of gameplay. The pathing problem in Palworld could potentially be addressed in future updates, but developer Pocketpair's priorities are unclear.

Collecting Pals is one of the biggest draws of Palworld, but in its current state, one element is seriously holding back the way that Pals operate in the game. Palworld is all about the utility of its collectible creatures, which can do more than just join the playable character in battles against other Pals and bosses. Whether conscripted by force or employed willingly, Pals provide the backbone of work in farms or factories created in Palworld, and their efficiency can have a big impact on progress in the game as a whole.

Beneath its cute facade, Palworld hides some disturbing truths. Lore isn't most players' first concern when booting up a game of Palworld. It's easy enough to accept the concepts of collecting monsters and crafting at face value. Prior conditioning from the lore-light survival games that inspired it - things like Rust and Ark: Survival Evolved - means that no one expected a deep, complex story out of Palworld.

Palworld allows players to capture humans, although they are relatively useless other than for selling or doing Handiwork. Human capture follows the same method as capturing Pals, and captured humans can be renamed and assigned to the player's base. There are various uses for human NPCs in Palworld, though they may be less useful than Pals.

Palworld has certainly never attempted to classify itself as a wholesome game, but the fact that players can capture humans in addition to the monster-like Pals takes things to another level. The survival and creature-collecting game Palworld has had massive overnight success since its launch into Early Access, and players are still slowly uncovering all the secrets the game holds. What was once dubbed "Pokémon with guns" has proven itself to be much more than that.

Food is a crucial element in Palworld, affecting both player characters and their Pals' productivity and sanity. To increase food output, players can plant seeds, recruit Pals with lower hunger rates, or cook foraged items. A sneaky way to prevent food expiration is by using a bug to reset the expiration timer.

There's an easy way to save tons of food in Palworld. Food is more central to the Palworld experience than the average survival game, simply because players are required to feed both themselves and their Pals. That includes both Pals captured into the party and Pals left working at home base, so collecting and maintaining a significant stock of food is vital. Not eating will decrease a Pal's Sanity, which reduces their productivity. Forget to feed Pals or let the feed box run empty, and the day-to-day operations of a Palworld base will grind to a halt.
