Invincible Season 3 saw an explosive finale when Conquest arrived on Earth to punish Mark and a battle ensued between them. Robert Kirkman’s series didn’t fail to impress us with this third season as well. There was one element that perfectly accompanied all the fantastic characters and jaw-dropping scenes.

Colombian police say a 40-year-old man was arrested after being caught trying to board a flight from Cartagena, Colombia, to Amsterdam, Netherlands, while wearing a wig hiding cocaine worth more than $10,470. The suspect, a Colombian national originally from Pereira, was arrested at Rafael Nunez International Airport after an officer from the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the National Colombian Police found, through a scanner, that he was wearing “a wig that contained more than 220 grams (7.76 ounces) of cocaine,” police said. Footage released by Colombian police first shows officers examining a scan of the man’s body. An officer then removes the wig from the man’s head to reveal multiple packets containing a white powder, a sample of which is tested on the spot. (Credit: Policia de Colombia via Storyful)

He was 88.
His death was reported to The New York Times by a Wambaugh family friend.
In 1971, eleven years after joining the LAPD, Wambaugh saw his first novel, The New Centurions, published by Little, Brown and Co. Joseph Wambaugh, who turned his experiences from 14 years with the Los Angeles Police Department into such gritty books as The Onion Field, The New Centurions, The Blue Knight and The Glitter Dome — all adapted for the screen — died Friday. He was 88.
Wambaugh, who also co-created the acclaimed 1970s anthology series Police Story for NBC, died at his home in Rancho Mirage of esophageal cancer, longtime family friend Janene Gant told The New York Times.
Wambaugh, who joined the LAPD as a patrolman in 1960, made a splash with his debut novel, The New Centurions, a sweeping tale that followed three young LAPD officers during a five-year period that led to the 1965 Watts riots. The suit is being brought by five different New York City employee pension funds, which say Paramount did not properly consider a new buyout offer.
Paramount’s legal division is stacking billable hours, these days. The company faces multiple legal challenges to its merger deal with Skydance Media, and another lawsuit has arisen to try and halt the transaction in its tracks. The Wrap reports that Paramount is being sued by five pension funds representing New York City employees, who want to pause the Skydance merger until Paramount has sufficiently reviewed a $13.5 billion offer from Project Rise Partners (Prp) which arose in late January.
Key Details: The lawsuit says that Paramount failed in its duty to shareholders by not sufficiently considering the offer from Project Rise Partners. Prp’s bid pays Class B shareholders more than Skydance’s offer would but does not reward Paramount controlling shareholder Shari Redstone as richly.

Jackie Chan has had a cross-cultural appeal for a number of decades. The Hong Kong-born star began his career in his birthplace. He had his first on-screen role when he was just eight years old, acting in the 1962 film Big and Little Wong Tin Bar. After that, the star later played roles in movies alongside big stars such as Bruce Lee, with whom he acted in 1972's Fist of Fury. Other 1970s Chan films included Chinese Hercules, Facets of Love, Fist to Fist, and The Golden Lotus.
It was not until 1980 that Chan made his Hollywood debut in a movie called Battle Creek Brawl (also known as The Big Brawl). This was the United States' audience's first introduction to Chan, who would go on to become a bigger star in the '80s and '90s, acting in key works like Police Story. Now, Chan's name is ubiquitous throughout Hollywood,...

While we’re more than ready to jump back into the regular TV schedule, that’s not happening just yet. There is still plenty to watch tonight, Monday, Dec. 30.
Sure, we’d love to tune in to another medical mystery with Dr. Wolf via Brilliant Minds. Maybe you’d love to tune into another case with the NCIS team. After months of belting through the blinds, battles, knockouts, and live shows, The Voice declared its Season 26 winner on Tuesday night, and Sofronio Vasquez couldn’t be more delighted that it was him who America voted in for the win. In the battles, he beat Aliyah Khaylyn on their duet of Jennifer Rush’s “The Power of Love.” In the knockouts, he won with his performance of “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me.” Then, in the playoffs, he advanced thanks to his performances of Roy Orbison’s “Crying,” Elvis Presley’s “If I Can Dream,” and the Police’s “Every Breath You Take.” He capped off the season with performances of “Unstoppable,” “A Million Dreams,” and “Who’s Lovin’ You.” He also...

Jackie Chan once attempted to break out of his signature comedy style in the early part of the millennium when he made New Police Story, which had him playing a more dramatic role as an alcoholic ex-cop. He would follow it up with 2005’s The Myth, which would be half of an Armor of God-type movie where he played an archeologist and half of a period film where Chan also played a General of a historical Chinese army. Chan returns with a new sequel to The Myth, titled A Legend. This film reunites him with director Stanley Tong, who directed Chan in movies like Rumble in the Bronx and Police Story 3: Supercop.
Well Go USA has just released the trailer for A Legend. Not long after the company unveiled the trailers for the upcoming action films of other martial arts icons, Tony Jaa’s Striking Rescue and Donnie Yen’s The Prosecutor.

Martial arts have been a staple in movies and television since the 1970s. The majority of the early projects originated in Hong Kong and immediately became worldwide sensations. These films have periodically changed in numerous ways, leaving an influence on all types of genres, from science fiction to fantasy. Legends like Bruce Lee helped pioneer many of the wild fighting styles that are so popular today. Jackie Chan still has upcoming movies, and was a similar force of nature in the exhibition of on-screen combat.
When first entering the realm of cinematic martial arts, it's important to watch classic films. The early works were truly revolutionary and laid an impressive groundwork that has stood the test of time. To that extent, it's interesting to see the prominent influence that early movies hold over modern releases. For those looking to get into the genre for the first time, it's best to start with the source material.

Amazon Prime Video's latest hit series, "Cross" is very much in the lineage of shows like "Reacher" and "Jack Ryan. "Reacher" broke records when it hit Prime Video, immediately proving popular with its pulpy action driven by a true mountain of a man in Alan Ritchson, who finally gave fans a book-accurate Jack Reacher. Those novels, written by British author Lee Child, are immensely popular in their own right, which all but guaranteed that the streaming adaptation would — much like "Yellowstone" — become a hit with dads across the world.
There's not much to the "Reacher" formula beyond "Big man who's good at punching people goes around punching people." Of course, there are a few dad-centric accoutrements, such as Reacher being a former military policeman and a sort of tacit conservatism that undergirds the whole thing. But essentially, "Reacher" is like John Wick with a big boy in the lead. Similarly,...

Just Go with It's soundtrack features the perfect mix of songs to usher the story toward every step of the way. However, when he thinks he has found a girl he would want to marry for real, he needs his work assistant (Jennifer Aniston) to pretend to be his soon-to-be ex-wife. Of course, this leads to an even more outrageous series of events and an unlikely love story.

Jodie Foster's career has been famously wild. As a child, she appeared in lightweight Disney films like "Napoleon and Samantha" and "Freaky Friday," while also taking the world by surprise playing an underage sex worker in Martin Scorsese's "Taxi Driver." Throughout the 1980s, she successfully continued acting as she grew, appearing in films like "Foxes," "The Hotel New Hampshire," and "The Accused," for which she won her first Academy Award. In 1991, Foster won her second Oscar for playing FBI cadet Clarice Starling in Jonathan Demme's bleak serial killer thriller "The Silence of the Lambs," one of the few films to win "The Big Five" Oscars. That same year, Foster made her directorial debut with the child-prodigy drama "Little Man Tate."
From then on, Foster was a Hollywood staple, leading multiple high-profile studio dramas like "Maverick," Robert Zemeckis' "Contact," and "Anna and the King." She also worked with...

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Beetlejuice 2 (2024)!Though her absence was already expected, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice includes a subtle in-universe reason why Juno is missing from the sequel. Very few figures from the original 1988 Beetlejuice movie actually return in Beetlejuice 2s cast, including Betelgeuse himself (Michael Keaton), Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder), Delia Deetz (Catherine OHara), and Little Jane Butterfield (played by Amy Nuttall in the sequel). Therefore, the vast majority of original Beetlejuice characters dont appear in the 2024 movie, such as the Deetzes iconic friend Otho and the Maitlands fan-favorite afterlife case worker Juno.
The absences of both Otho and Juno in Beetlejuice 2 make sense within the context of real-world developments. Junos actress Sylvia Sidney passed away in 1999, with Othos actor Glenn Shadix having passed away in 2010. However, with Juno being a ghost forced to spend eternity as a civil servant, her character realistically could have played a role in the sequels plot.

According to Nick Swardson, Michael Winslow had an ego that was even more bloated than the full Police Academy filmography.
When a stand-up comedian makes the jump from stage to screen, it signifies a massive moment of mainstream breakthrough for an artist accustomed to slumming it at road gigs and open mics for most of their career. By starring in a hit film, a stand-up comedian can go from an almost unknown touring act to a headliner at any comedy club in the country, and, much like a deep-sea diver coming up for air too fast, the swift ascent can do strange things to their brains.
As Swardson claimed during a recent episode of the 2 Bears, 1 Cave podcast, when Police Academy, Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment, Police Academy 3: Back in Training, Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol, Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach, Police Academy 6: Under Siege,...

In 1983, sometime between the M*A*S*H finale, the shock of seeing Darth Vader’s face, and the Cabbage Patch Riots, the Police issued the year’s music blockbuster. The trio’s fifth and final album, Synchronicity, was almost immediately the best-selling LP released that year.
The record, now octuple platinum, was a cultural force: The New York Times likened it to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band for pairing highbrow conceptualism (can you explain psychiatrist Carl Jung’s 1960 theory of “synchronicity”?) with tunes you could hum (who cares!

Look, children, it’s a falling star! And he’s pretty pissed off, too! By the time 1995 rolled around, Eddie Murphy had undoubtedly taken a tumble: Another 48 Hrs. captured none of the magic of the original, Boomerang flew back in his face, Beverly Hills Cop III killed the franchise, and Vampire in Brooklyn sucked the life out of the box office. This was all David Spade needed for one infamous joke he did on Saturday Night Live, targeting Murphy on his “Hollywood Minute” segment.
While Eddie Murphy and David Spade have patched things up, the former – who was an SNL cast member from 1980-1984 (three years before Spade was a skater dude in Police Academy 4) – thought his alumni status should have meant more. As he told The New York Times, “He showed a picture of me, and he said, ‘Hey, everybody, catch a falling star.’ It was like: Wait, hold on.

The story goes thus: it was 1985, and Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan, having enjoyed nearly two decades of cinematic success in his native country, wanted to extend his reach into the United States. Chan had already tried to infiltrate America in 1980 with Robert Clouse's film "The Big Brawl," but while it was highly respected by martial arts fans, "Brawl" wasn't the massive hit Chan wanted. Chan had already directed four movies by 1985 but still felt that an American director could translate his fightin' sensibilities for a North American audience more accurately. So, he hired genre filmmaker James Glickenhaus to helm the 1985 actioner "The Protector."
Chan and Glickenhaus butted heads throughout production, as Glickenhaus refused to film fight sequences in a way Chan approved of. At the end of production, Chan merely re-edited the film himself and directed new scenes in the hope of salvaging the project.

Prior to his gig on "Star Trek" in 1966, actor DeForest Kelley spent 20 years traversing the wild and hoary world of episodic television and appearing in supporting roles in little-regarded feature films. His first professional screen acting job was a one-off performance in the one-season 1947 TV series "Public Prosecutor." The series holds the distinction of being the first-ever mainstream televised series to be released on film, instead of being broadcast live, which was standard at the time.
Between that show and "Star Trek," Kelley appeared on over 80 TV shows, often just in single episodes, but sometimes returning for two or three. He also had bit roles in films like "Variety Girl," "The Men," "Taxi," and "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral," playing Morgan Earp. He was just a hardworking character actor, taking the jobs that were offered him. There is an integrity to that approach.
