As a resident of Western New York, the weather can get a little dicy this time of year. It's dark, cold and we typically cannot go anywhere when we get hit with at least a foot a snow a week. So, I choose to embark on watching Star Wars: The Bad Batch with my 8-year-old daughter.
Following up on her introduction with the series' trailers, we started in the beginning with the opening episode, "Aftermath." From the beginning, Brooklyn, my daughter was hooked. She particular fell in love and related instantly to the character of Omega. My wife and I also both loved the addition of Omega to the clone group's dynamic.
As the Bad Batch worked for the Empire at the start of the series, Brooklyn started asking, "They aren't bad guys, right?" She was very worried if the Batch themselves would work for the Empire or choose to the right side.

The Bad Batch is a cohesive story with deep foreshadowing throughout its seasons, leading to a satisfying narrative conclusion. Every episode has value, debunking the idea of filler content in the series and showcasing the interconnected nature of the storytelling. Characters like Omega and Crosshair undergo tragic arcs, while Wrecker emerges as the emotional core of Clone Force 99.
I decided to rewatch Star Wars: The Bad Batch from start to finish now that the series has come to a close, and it caused me to notice a few key details about the animated Star Wars series that I hadn't fully picked up on before. The Bad Batch has been a favorite of mine ever since it started in 2021, which means that I've already rewatched seasons 1 and 2 a few times each. After The Bad Batch season 3's ending, however, I knew it was time to go back and watch this story as a complete narrative.

"Juggernaut" sees the return of an old enemy of The Bad Batch, though circumstances have turned Admiral Rampart into an ally. Admiral Rampart played a prominent role as an antagonist throughout the first two seasons of The Bad Batch. Ultimately, the Imperial admiral was betrayed by his Emperor, leading to his imprisonment in an Imperial labor camp.
The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Season 3, Episode 11, "Juggernaut," now streaming on Disney+.
Episode 11 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch's third and final season, "Juggernaut," saw Clone Force 99 tasked with once again recovering Omega from Mount Tantiss. Omega was previously imprisoned at the Empire's secret research facility, where Dr Royce Hemlock is conducting experiments in cloning, at the end of Season 2. While Omega and Crosshair managed to escape the facility together in the first half of The Bad Batch Season 3, they were still left without any indication of...

Cinema fans have been familiar with Michael Berryman for decades. He made his first screen appearance in the 1975 film Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze, following that up with a role in the Best Picture winner One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Next up was his most iconic role, that of the desert-dwelling cannibal Pluto in Wes Craven’s 1977 film The Hills Have Eyes, a role he reprised in the messy 1984 sequel The Hills Have Eyes Part II. He has gone on to rack up over one hundred more credits, including roles in films like Deadly Blessing, Invitation to Hell, Cut and Run, Weird Science, My Science Project, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, The Guyver, Beastmaster 2, Wizards of the Demon Sword, Teenage Exorcist, The Devil’s Rejects, Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield, The Haunted Casino, The Lords of Salem, and Death House.

Fans of Alex Cox’s Straight to Hell will be delighted to know that Jim Jarmusch has re-entered the universe of the Pogues–tangentially, at least. The Only Lovers Left Alive director has helmed the music video for Cat Power’s cover of A Pair of Brown Eyes, the 1985 single from the punk band.
Boasting quite a behind-the-scenes crew, the video was shot by Jarmusch and David Lynch collaborator Frederick Elmes and edited by Affonso Gonçalves, also a frequent collaborator with Jarmusch as well as Todd Haynes. Coming from Cat Power’s latest album Covers, the video captures a stripped-down performance with a fittingly hazy vision.
Watch below, along with a conversation from last fall featuring Jarmusch discussing his latest art exhibition.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Noah Jupe and Laura Dern have boarded Justin Kurzel’s sci-fi drama ‘Morning’ for Hanway.
Plot details state the project is set in a near-future where society has a pill that does away with the need to sleep. With the added help of an artificial sun, there is no end to morning daylight, living and work. However, as a young generation grows up deprived of the world of sleep, they consider rebelling to reclaim their dreams.
Dern takes on the role of the ambitious and driven Cathy who is an early advocate of a sleepless world, but as she and her son Danny – played by Jupe – pick up the pieces of their lives following the death of her husband Frank -played by Cumberbatch – she finds the universe she helped to build is starting to crumble around her, whilst memories she fought so hard to repress are bleeding into her waking life.

Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the rare actors who is able to successfully put one foot in the world of prestige drama films and the other in action, spectacle blockbusters. This is the guy who can wow people in films like “Nightcrawler,” “Nocturnal Animals,” and “Wildlife,” while also showing up as a mustache-twirling supervillain in “Spider-Man: Far From Home.” And it would appear he’s going to keep that trend going with his new film “Cut and Run.”

“Habit” stirred controversy (and a petition to block its release) last year when conservatives caught wind that Paris Jackson was cast as a female Jesus Christ in it, with a purported lesbian coupling adding to the blasphemous offense. Well, it turns out that was much ado about almost nothing: There is no such sex scene in the film’s release cut, if indeed there ever was, and Jackson’s appearance is little more than a silent cameo.
On the other hand, fears that Janell Shirtcliff’s debut feature “ridicules people of faith” are closer to the mark. For those viewers curious enough to investigate, however, what may truly offend about “Habit” isn’t any sacrilegious content so much as the fact that it’s so infantile in that regard — and every other. This candy-colored dress-up excuse for a bunch of slumming models, rock musicians and miscellaneous scenesters might be termed a “Bratz” version of “Faster,...

Kathy Griffin has joined the cast of “Search Party” for its fifth season, Variety has learned exclusively.
Griffin will recur in the HBO Max comedy as Liquorice Montague, a conspiracy theorist who takes Chantal (Clare McNulty) under her wing as a “co-dependent apprentice.”
“Working with Kathy was a huge life moment for us. She brought so much warmth, humanity and professionalism to set, and delivered a performance that will delight the world,” showrunners Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers said in a joint statement.
The fourth season of “Search Party” ended with Dory’s (Alia Shawkat) friends thinking she died in a house fire after she was held prisoner in that house’s basement. However, in the final moments of the episode, she awoke on a medical gurney, gasping for air and saying she “saw everything.”

Courtney Love claims she quit acting after experiencing several #MeToo moments. After releasing Hole's breakthrough album, Live Through This in 1994, Love set her sights on acting, which is something she did well before forming the band. Love appeared in supporting roles in Alex Cox movies Sid and Nancy (1986) and Straight to Hell (1987), but didn't pursue the Hollywood route. Love notes that it was director Milos Forman that brought her back into the world of acting.
Before teaming up with Milos Forman for The People vs. Larry Flynt in 1996, Courtney Love appeared in the Jean-Michel Basquiat biopic Basquiat and the drama Feeling Minnesota. She played Larry Flynt's late wife Althea in Forman's movie opposite Woody Harrelson, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. "For a few years, because of Milos Forman, I was a professional actress and a movie star," recalls Love in a new Instagram post. "It was fun as hell.

Courtney Love, who earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in The People vs. Larry Flynt, is reminiscing on her screen roles and has said “a bunch of #MeToos” were responsible for her exit.
“I sure do miss acting sometimes. To the tune of a great director. One of the greatest experiences, as a woman you can have, I think. All the glamour that comes after that is fun, flamboyant, gorgeous. But the trust one can achieve with a great director? It’s one of the most profound things I’ve ever known,” she wrote on Instagram.

Ruggero Deodato’s 1980 film Cannibal Holocaust is a horror classic. It pioneered what would become known as the found footage genre, which eventually spawned classics like The Blair Witch Project, Rec and the Paranormal Activity movies. It tells the tale of an American film crew becoming lost and brutally murdered in the Amazon rainforest, with the footage being discovered later.
Cannibal Holocaust is notoriously violent, with the gore being so realistic that authorities assumed that Deodato made a real snuff film. He was even charged with the murder of cast members. His defense wasn’t helped by the fact that the cast had agreed to lay low for a year so the director could make audiences believe in the movie’s fiction. Fortunately, he managed to get in touch with them before he was convicted and got them to confirm that they hadn’t actually been fed to cannibals.

On “Ordinary Man,” the lushly sentimental title track of Ozzy Osbourne’s latest album, the Godfather of Heavy Metal has the audacity to sing, “I don’t wanna die an ordinary man.” It’s a puzzling lyric because for the past half-century he’s been anything but average — he’s been the Iron Man, the Blizzard of Ozz, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebel — but he sings the line from the heart, showing how deep down inside he still feels like he still needs to prove himself. That’s because in the past year or so,...
