Patricia Hodge was cast perfectly. So were all the other actors but her especially. If you love reading Elizabeth Bowen then this movie based on her book will not disappoint you. It used to be shown on Bravo but hasn't been shown in a long time. I would love to buy it if it becomes available for purchase.
I've read the Death of the Heart Book when I was a teenager and I was thrilled when the Masterpiece Theatre aired Death of the Heart on PBS. It very closely follows the book.

I've been looking for this movie for many years. I have a vhs recording, but no player to watch it on. Luckily I was able to purchase a copy from Apple TV. How very happy I was to be able to watch it again. I wish that Jo Jo Cole was in other productions.
