Actor Romesh Sharma turned producer with this film which was based on Dial M For Murder. This film was 2nd film of director Mukul Anand after Kanoon Kya Karega.
Dial M for murder was remade in hollywood as The perfect murder in 1998 which was remade as Humraaz in 2002.
The background theme music was again used in the movie " Wahem".
Dimple Kapadia voice is dubbed by a dubbing artiste in the film.
After Aitbaar, director Mukul Anand had launched a film with Rajesh Khanna and Sridevi and the title of the film was C.I.D. with R.D.Burman as the music composer . This film was then shelved later.
