Cheesy cheese ball fest with extra cheese!

Wow, as child of the 80's I'd never heard or seen this TV movie ever! Well, thankfully, or not, one of the local TV stations decided to use it for filler one Sunday afternoon in 2001. OMG, you'd think this movie was written as a parody. You heard right. An elite group of girls (think Charlies Angels) works undercover at night as secret agents and by day are aerobics instructors at the cutting edge studio Velvet. Oooh soo 80's physical. But there's more, their secret base is hidden in the aerobics studio.

In the beginning, Shari Belafonte wearing her trademark thin neon headband and huge mouth of pearly whites, shows the 'new gal' the ropes and they show her how the the wall where the reception desk is opens up to reveal their secert base, full of walls of computers with blinking lights that don't' really do anything. They have a hi tech computer and lounge chairs a la Charles Angels and it's all glam and aerobics and crime fighting. Gotta love it.

The theme song if I can remember is also very 80's new wave with some gals whispering Veeeelllllvettt!

So bad it's good. Nostalgic to the max. You'll enjoy this movie cause it's so cheesy. Wonder if it was considered as a series? doh.

Not that bad

The movie of course could have been better, but I would own a copy if I could find it. There are actresses in this that do well, however If the plot had been more in depth, I think It would have scored better. I don't think any other movie or TV plot has tried using the cover as an aerobics and fitness gym. That is a decent cover for an under cover unit and covert ops team, if there was one with all woman. In my opinion there should have been more action and fight scenes with the different abilities of each agent. It has been awhile since it aired so I wouldn't mind catching it again if it was on TV or for rent, so that some more critiques can be done. There should be another attempt at something like this with more recent female actresses.

Positively Awful!

This made-for-television movie combines the worst Charlie's Angels episodes with just enough Wonder Woman thrown in to make this one of the worst TV movies of all time.

Lots of high-fives, thumbs-ups, winks and other silly gestures used in lieu of real acting makes one wonder just how much Shari Belafonte (er, -Harper) would pay to keep this one from ever being shown again... anywhere.

See this one only if you really like network television throw-aways or if you are on a mission to test your pain threshold. If you do decide to see this, you will be amazed at just how bad it is. Oh, yes, and turn off the sound. Unless, of course, you enjoyed the music from Wonder Woman.

Calling All Conisseurs of Camp!

OMG this Neutron Bomb of a MisFire is up there with "ShowGirls" in the "so bad its brilliant" category!

My friend got a copy of this trash thru the grapevine, if you are a "camp' addict then "Velvet" is your feel good hit!

It basically a grade "Z" Charlies Angels , Wonder Woman Rip Off , which , by comparison "Velvet" makes those shows seem Shakespearian.

My friends & I could not stop laughing @ its God Awful Wonderfulness.

Worth a look just for the 80's Ladies Aerobic outfits, ridiculous theme Song,

"Strong As A Magnet" She is Velvet", genius lyrics!

Shari Belafonte Harper, some ladies from "YOung & The Restless" Polly Bergen ( who must have wondered what the H*** she is doing there) all giving their best "deer caught in the Headlights" acting job .... uhhh Lordy...

Honestly , every woman really does in this day & age needs a lipstick tube that can set off explosions , HOT!

A must @ parties! Get Ready to Laff!

Possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard of in my life.

Okay I admit there have been some really dumb concepts for television shows in the past. My mother the Car comes to mind. But aerobic instructors by day, secret government commandos by night! I mean forget how bad the movie itself was done just the idea itself was bad. I mean with something that stupid how could it have been done well?
