A teenage wrestler struggles with growing up.

This was a pretty good statement of teenage angst. A young and talented wrestler struggles with growing up and what's right. The teenage years are told through the medium of wrestling, a sport that is largely unrecognized and under-appreciated, according to this film. A few elements of the plot are typically hollywood (the washed up mentor who could have been a contender), but the performances are just strong enough to take you back to your own high school years and revisit all that was right, or wrong, with them.

Hadley's Rebellion was filmed almost totally at the Webb Schools of California in Claremont. The scene of the English class in which Hadley (Griffin O'Neal) falls asleep, was a real classroom featuring Webb Schools' music teacher, Chris Trussell as the teacher.
