i had never seen or heard of this movie before, but being a big Sarah Jessica parker fan i purchased the DVD-yes it is available-at a music store in Sydney,Australia. it was at a bargain price of five dollars so i thought even if it was crap there would be no harm done. and what a surprise i received.the actual clarity of the film was not too great, but the movie itself was great. Sarah Jessica parker was so fun to watch at such a young age and she puts forward a great performance with an acting style that is so reminiscent of the top notch performances she gives to this day. a sweet, entertaining and funny at times little film that left me wondering why i hadn't heard of or seen before. definitely at the top of my collection.
I found this movie at Walmart for 88 cents - it was marked $1. I bought it because I really enjoy Sarah Jessica Parker's earlier stuff (not so much her later stuff, though), and I thought I would give it a try. At the very least, I was out less than a dollar.
I just finished watching it, and I must say, it is really interesting, and it has a great moral. You should always live life as if you knew you were going to die - and what would you do to make your life better. It's not about money, power, wealth, or any of those things that Hollywood would like you to believe, but it is about caring, second chances, and real love, and is about what life is really about.
Sure, it's low budget, and it is from the early 80's, but if you can get past that, it has a great message, and some of the acting is pretty good, too!
It's just too bad that Tom Shea was only in this movie, and in only one other movie - a pretty bad one at that. He was good in this one, and kinda cute, too.
All in all, I would rate it at a 7, simply for the message it contains. If you can manage to get your hands on a copy, I highly recommend it.

Lori Anderson (Sarah Jessica Parker) fell off her horse and is in a coma. The movie is told in a flashback. She is still struggling to come to terms with her father's death. The family horse ranch is struggling. She's not happy that her mother Betty wants to remarry to Sheriff Alec Peiski. Terry Stockton is flying a single engine plane with his friend Paul Bart when they crash in the woods. Lori finds a terribly injured Terry. She falls off her horse and hits her head. When she comes to, she goes to look for her horse and finds Terry riding her. Later, she discovers that Terry is actually dead. They reveal his condition to Paul. While Terry can move stuff, she's the only one who can see him.
The production is bad. It looks like a weaker TV movie. SJP is cute. Her naivety is adorable although a bit silly. For her fans, this is definitely worth a watch. There is a pretty good twist in the end. For everybody else, the story concept is better than the overall execution.

I loved Sex and The City, which is my favorite TV show...anyways ...I was given a copy of "Somewhere Tomorrow" as a gift from my grandmother about 4 years ago. I never took the time to watch it because I thought it was a crap movie....I finally watched it tonight with some friends, because we were bored and wanted something to do...while digging through my old movies...we came across this movie and said "Why not give it a try?" we did and the movie is so great! Its definitely a tear jerker! I love it! The ending really surprised me!!! Like I said I loved it! The quality is not that great...but the movie itself is lovely....I guess that is why my granny gave it to me....She died too so this reminds me of my grandmother for some strange yet cliché reason...anyways .....if you are into chick flicks take a shot at this movie!!! and remember live your DREAMS!!!! :) OK that last part was pretty tacky but so true!!!! :)

One of Sarah Jessica Parkers early films, Somewhere Tomorrow truly showcases her talent. An excellent family film. Explores a variety of teen issues in a tasteful manner. Also it is very well produced and directed. A MUST see for any true Sarah Jessica Parker fan.
This is one of those "6pm films" that used to be shown on BBC2 in the late 80's. I haven't seen it in YEARS, but I do remember that it really struck a chord with me, and I've never forgotten it. It was one of those films I'd forgotten the title of, and finally looked it up on here one day.
There were some hilarious, comedic moments between SJP and Tom Shea (I thought he was GORGEOUS back then!), and it was also very emotive - as I recall the ending made me cry (I was in my early teens then, so forgive me!).
I also remember that SJP had a really sweet singing voice. I'm going to have to see if I can get hold of this one from somewhere...

I found this movie on DVD at the Dollar Store, and I am so glad I did. After watching it, I wondered why was it even considered to be sold at such a low price! It's a great movie to watch when you want to stay in or if you want your spirits lifted. I love the storyline and the cast! Tears are going to dribble down when you watch this movie because its so good! Sarah Jessica Parker shows a promising career in acting in this movie, at least I and the people I know that have seen her in this movie saw her shine. You are going to fall in love with Terry Stockton (Terry Shea) and Lori Anderson (Sarah Jessica Parker)! For a 1983 movie, it was fantastic and brilliantly done! For me, this movie is a classic!

I really hope they bring this back out someday its a very worth while movie. It has a wonderful yet odd twist of romance. This is a good family picture as well. I highly recommend it!
One of my friends and I happened to rent this movie from a blockbuster in Utah a few years ago and it ended up being one of our favorite movies. This movie is a must see, we have never stopped having fun quoting it, however sadly enough later when we tried to rent the movie, it was no longer there and they never got any new copies. We have tried finding other places that have it, and we have even looked on amazon.com but it isn't there. Please bring back this movie it is the coolest and cheesiest!

Micro budget films don't get any better than this. There's something about the simplicity of both the star performances of Sarah Jessica Parker and Tom Shea and the heartfelt script that speaks of truthfulness, Director Robert Wiemer works well with young actors and his writing is full of realistic dialog filmed on a budget.
The story follows young Lori Anderson, grieving over the loss of her father and angry that her mother has begun to pick up the pieces of her life with a new serious relationship. She meets Terry Stockton at the site of a private plane crash, only to realize he was killed in the crash. Together, they begin to piece together the reason Terry has remained earthbound as a ghost...and if it has anything to do with Lori.
Full of surprises, I'm still not sure of Terry's "true" identity. The script offers vague clues to another possibility. The song lyrics were apparently written by future "Star Trek" czar Rick Berman! He may have missed his calling.
In the end, this is a very good family film, that has the rare quality of never talking down to it's audience, whether child or adult and awaits a well deserved discovery with a DVD release.
Check it out!

This movie may be old but it is one of the best movies i have ever seen. I've seen many movies but none quite like this one. I give it an A+++++. I wonder what ever happened to Tom Shea he was really good in this movie. My mom had bought it , at first i didn't really want to watch it because it looked extremely old then, i finally came across to it, so i started to watch it and got really interested. I actually felt lke i was part of the movie, i got so into it that i actually started to cry. I really loved the ending it was onw of the best endings in a movie by far that i have seen. Also, when they met up together and Terry said "I love you too much" I totally felt butterflies in my stomach. Just an awesome movie.

A very early appearance of a young Sarah Jessica Parker, this sweet touching early 1980's movie is a wonderful family drama. A moving storyline, it is a wonderful look at too up and coming stars, Parker and her co-star Tom Shea. Well written with a great twist at the end, I'd have to say that it is one of my all time favorites. A perfect choice to be re-released on DVD, and additionally the excellent soundtrack, many songs sung by Sarah Jessica Parker herself!

I love this movie, now I'm trying to find the songs to it. I recommend this movie to all teens and families... I love the songs. They're so relaxing says a lot if you listen to it. I love the part where she Sara Sings. Recommended to lovers also. Makes you realize how much you care 4 someone when you lose a love one. Trying to hang onto that love and not being able to let go and live for yourself. It only gets better if you let it...over all its pretty good actually excellent. I need to find the songs like I said earlier. What did you think about when the plane went down and then the movie got sorta twisted. It was weird but watch the movie and you'll understand,I'm not giving anything else away.

I have to say my daughter and I picked this movie up at you guessed it the Dollar store it is on DVD that holds 2 films. So it was actually 50 cents per movie. Both my daughter and I loved it, my daughter is 17 and she was all misty eyed and giggles by the end of the movie. It was beautiful my only complaint was the cover of the DVD package contained witchcraft symbols which had nothing to do with the movie. So I suppose many people hoping for a scary movie will be disappointed and those who don't buy it because of the images on the cover are missing out on a great family movie most Christian families would love. All in all it was a great movie. And I loved it.

Gosh, I must have watched this 20 times when it first came out on cable, and I was in my early 20s. It's so sweetly hopeful and romantic, and if you've experienced personal loss, it really speaks to you. Well, I happened to check Amazon Prime Video, and it was available so I bought it. Just watched it, and 40 years later it's as good to me as I remembered. Reading some of these reviews, I would have to agree that it's cheesy in spots with laughable 80s fashion, but the overall message of the movie is so very sweet, and I just love it!!! I also agree that I wish we would have seen more of Tom Shea!! He was so very good in this, and cute too.

Based on some of the other user comments here, there is a chance that "Somewhere, Tomorrow" may appeal to children and teenagers. I'm not in any of those categories, which may explain why I wasn't moved by this movie. For starters, I thought it was poorly paced, frequently taking much longer to get to key moments than it would in another movie. Despite this, there are also a lot of moments that seem missing from the movie, moments that would properly explain things. There are some somewhat sweet moments between the main female character and her ghost friend, but seldom did their conversations get into much depth. And the "twist ending" is not a surprise at all, since they telegraph what will happen in the very first scene of the movie! If you are wondering about future star Sarah Jessica Parker, her performance here is okay, but shows no signs of what made her a superstar in the years to come.
