Retenez-moi... ou je fais un malheur! (1984)

Trivia

Retenez-moi... ou je fais un malheur!

Edit
One of two comedies that actor-comedian Jerry Lewis made in France during the early-mid 1980s around 1984. The films are Retenez-moi... ou je fais un malheur! (1984) and Par où t'es rentré? On t'a pas vu sortir (1984). He once said of these two French films: "as long as I have control, you'll never see them in this country [USA]".
The literal English translation of this French film's ''Retenez-moi... ou je fais un malheur!'' title is ''Hold me... or I'll make a mess!''.
Artwork and promotional materials for the movie's Australian home video release referenced the recent pictures Police Academy (1984), Le Flic de Beverly Hills (1984) and La valse des pantins (1982) the latter title of which had also starred Jerry Lewis.
One of the movie's English language titles, ''The Defective Detective'', evoked actor Jerry Lewis's earlier movie title of Jerry chez les cinoques (1964).
This French film in the English language is known under two titles. They are: ''To Catch a Cop'' and ''The Defective Detective''.
