Oh Brother, where are you?

Or is it what are you? One thing is for sure, since this became available on a steaming service in Europe, I was able to watch this for the first time. It might not have aged too well (I can only write about it from todays perspective and not having full background knowledge of the time period and place this played into and was about), but that's what we get.

Still we get Andy Lau, we get family dynamics, we get maturing "teenager", rebelling and force who oppose all that. That may sound interesting or it may also sound boring to some. That is up to you. If it does tickle you in the right way, you should give it a try, but watch the trailer beforehand. Hairstyles and clothes aside, this has something to tell us, with some interesting stunt work. Something regular viewers of Hong Kong cinema are used too though (and even in bigger style than what is shown here).

Completely involving...

Completely involving, but this rebellion without a cause is no longer justified, Paul is proof that we have to be careful with whom we walk, because he ended up eating bran, he was a good boy, studious, corrupted by his brother and "friends", the relationship with the parents didn't help either, a beautiful film about violence, adolescence, and family, tragic, beautiful and revolting... A good outcome...
