Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will be taking movie-goers back to the post-apocalyptic wasteland as envisioned by Mad Max franchise mastermind George Miller this weekend – but if you want to watch some more post-apocalyptic wasteland in the comfort of your own home tomorrow, May 24th, Shout! TV has you covered. They will be airing a marathon called Obscury Road, showing cult classic post-apocalyptic movies all day long!

The Obscury Road marathon will be airing on Shout! TV; as well as the Shout! The late '70s and early '80s were a glorious time for genre movies. They are about pushing buttons and activating the pleasure centers in the brains of those of us who love these movies. They are pure cinema. That's an apt description for 1983's post-apocalyptic sci-fi actioner Exterminators of the Year 3000 (aka Death Warriors), an Italian Road Warrior knock-off new on Blu-ray from the good people at Scream Factory.

Exterminators of the Year 3000 is a film that I had never seen, but was highly anticipating once the announcement was made that Scream Factory would be bringing it to Blu-ray. I’m a huge fan of George Miller’s Mad Max films, and almost anything to do with a post-apocalyptic wastelands or dystopian societies. I am also a fan of Italian Exploitation, so when you combine those elements, you have my attention. I was expecting to be entertained by this film, but I didn’t expect it to be as fun as it was.

Yeah, Exterminators of the Year 3000 is a complete ripoff of George Miller’s epic Mad Max and The Road Warrior, but is that really a bad thing? You take a situation as enthralling as battling other survivors for resources by way of Twisted Metal-style car combat, throw in a few quirky but interesting characters,...

For the first week of March, the genre home entertainment releases are on the lighter side with Scream Factory reigning supreme as the champions of cult horror once again with two killer Blu-ray titles debuting Tuesday: Exterminators of the Year 3000 and the Blacula / Scream, Blacula, Scream double release.

In the wake of the success of films like The Road Warrior, the eighties saw countless desert-set post-apocalyptic knock-offs of varying degrees of quality (many of them covered here of the years). Exterminators Of The Year 3000 is likely a guilty pleasure of most Qe readers, so we thought we share the news that Scream Factory are releasing a Blu-ray of Giuliano Carnimeo's 1983 italian adventure film.

The blu-ray, which sees release March 3 of next year is available for pre-order now.

Throughout the month of October, the folks at Scream Factory gave horror hounds plenty of treats with a slew of new Blu-ray title unveilings and now they are kicking off December with another gift for fans: two new title announcements and updated release dates for a bunch of Blu-rays, including the long-awaited Collector’s Edition of Dog Soldiers and the Blacula / Scream, Blacula, Scream double feature.

Scream Factory plans to release the delayed Collector’s Edition Blu-ray of Dog Soldiers on March 10th, while Blacula / Scream, Blacula, Scream is scheduled to come out on Blu-ray on March 3rd.
