Now for something truly remarkable from the neglected Spanish cinema. Luis García Berlanga's wicked satire is a humanistic black comedy, free of cynicism. The borderline Kafkaesque situation of an everyman forced into a profession that horrifies him is funny and warm hearted - but with a ruthless logic that points to universal issues beyond Franco Fascism. First she realized that while James is a great guy, he isn't a great guy for her. Evelyn thrives on drama, and even though Adrian isn't the best choice, he makes more sense.
I don't think Evelyn going back to Adrian would be the best choice for her, but in the end, it's what she wants that matters.
And the wisdom she shared with Marisol was spot on.

Devious Maids didn't hold back on the cult secrets and a brand new death.
Devious Maids Season 4 Episode 6 had Rosie digging more into the circle and getting hurt in the process. Carmen was trying to further her career as she approached a milestone birthday that wasn't making her feel young.
Zoila wanted to let Frances know that Kyle was dating her again, but she didn't get the response she was hoping. And Evelyn's new man was even better than expected.
The biggest part of the episode was probably Ben's death, but each character had something worth talking about.

One episode was provided for reviewing purposes prior to broadcast.
Picking up seconds after last year’s wedding massacre cliffhanger, the third season of Devious Maids doesn’t waste any time in not only answering major questions from that finale, but in setting up the big mysteries of the new season as well. There’s a lot that can be said about the show’s inherently cheesy dialogue, over-the-top twists, and blatant similarity to creator Marc Cherry’s other show about a group of woman dealing with not-so-idyllic problems in beautifully idyllic settings, and most of it surprisingly positive. Devious Maids has yet to reach the embarrassingly good heights of Desperate Housewives, but as a 13-hour slice of effervescent summer fun, you could do a whole lot worse.
The show deals with its use of a classic cliffhanger (who got shot?) by using the just-as-classic premiere device of a flash-forward.

Devious Maids has kicked off its second season, and though we're just a few episodes in, it's already as soapy and twisty as ever - just how we like it, then. So when Ana Ortiz turned up in London, we just had to grab her for a natter about everything that's going on this season.

Devious Maids probably isn’t an especially surprising show, if you know that it comes to you from the creator of Desperate Housewives, but even in comparison to that effort, it’s a certain kind of forward move. Desperate Housewives started off aiming for what we’ve actually achieved with Devious Maids, but it wasn’t quite there, and it didn’t take long for it to turn down a less interesting road.
The guilty pleasure genre is a tricky one, especially if you want people to help spread the word by admitting they watch your show, and there is a razor thin line separating worthwhile efforts from shows that are calling their own audiences stupid. Worse, virtually every aspect of creating the story you’re after is trying desperately to shove you over that line.

We’ve waited all summer long to find out who killed Flora - and last night’s Devious Maids Season 1 finale delivered the answer and much more.

Devious Maids‘ first season is in the books, and the central question of who killed Flora Hernandez has been scrubbed away like a pesky cabernet stain. That’s good news for those of us who feared a Killing-esque arc that would’ve dragged out the mystery for an additional 13 episodes and counteracted the joy of hearing Susan Lucci drop zingers like, “If he wanted to help poor people, why didn’t he just go to Burbank?”
