    An embarrassment

I don't know if I've given a movie only one star before. But then I don't know if I've ever sat through so amateurish a movie.

The biggest problem is the script, which is full of clunky dialogue, uninteresting situations, and characters we never get to know or care about. The director of this movie was the script supervisor for some great tv shows. I can't imagine how he let this pass.

The acting goes from ok -Kenneth McMillan as the manager of the Devils - to really bad - Harry Hamlin. Some of the minor characters trip over their lines, which suggests that there was no money for retakes.

There have been countless movies about baseball with actors playing baseball players. They were shot in a manner that made you believe the actor could have actually been hitting the ball. Not here. The young woman who plays the part of the would-be second baseman (baseperson?), Robyn Barto, generally comes in under the ball even when she supposedly hits it. No other film credits are listed for her here on IMDB. Was she someone's daughter who wanted to be in a movie?

There's nothing to recommend this movie. Young women with aspirations to play baseball or other sports would get nothing out of it. Why it got made, why these actors agreed to appear in it, is a mystery to me.
