When it comes to social media, you can never control the story. Benson Boone learned that lesson the hard way. During his Wednesday night appearance on “The Tonight Show,” the singer told Jimmy Fallon about how his plan to get some social buzz for one of his songs backfired in a major way.
On April 11, Boone posted a TikTok that featured the chorus of his then-upcoming song “Mystical Magical” with the caption “Should I Play This At Coachella Tonight??” That song features Boone singing the phrase “Moonbeam ice cream / Taking off your blue jeans.”
“We were talking a little bit backstage and you said you started — or helped start — a little ‘Who is Benson Boone’ type of deal,” Fallon said.
“That’s the thing. It kind of went really right but really wrong,” Boone explained. “A couple months ago when I first posted the ‘moonbeam ice cream’ — What is ‘moonbeam ice cream’? Nobody knows.

Fire Country is making some extreme moves. Not only did the franchise shock fans by writing two main characters off the show during the season 3 finale, but it has continued to add compelling stars to its upcoming spinoff, Sheriff Country.
Sheriff Country is a spinoff that will be led by previously established character Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin). The closer we've gotten to the show's 2025-26 premiere, however, the more impressive the list of actors involved has grown. The latest addition is Matt Lauria, who is confirmed to be playing the male lead of Sheriff Country opposite Fox.

There’s nothing better in baseball than a surprise grand slam, and this morning, Glen Powell got one in his first Golden Globe Nomination for Male Actor in a Comedy/Musical for the Netflix movie he produced and co-wrote, Hit Man.
Powell was in London for the shoot of his next movie, Edgar Wright’s The Running Man when his family –who literally has cameo roles in the Paramount title– “stormed” into his hotel room screaming with glee over the Globes news.
The movie, which world premiered at TIFF during the strike in 2023 where it was snapped up by the streamer, has been a passion project for Powell, his first learning about via Michael Costigan at Aggregate Films who turned the Top Gun 2 actor onto Skip Hollandsworth’s Texas Monthly piece about a humdrum professor who moonlights for the police department. He poses as a hitman. In the movie,...

Ian Somerhalder, who starred in the first season of Lost, before finding breakaway success in the hit series Vampire Diaries, struggled with his character's early demise on the island. Lost has gained a second life recently, thanks to the show being added to Netflix's streaming library. Audiences are absolutely devouring the 24-episode seasons (remember those?), and social media is filled with shocked reactions to the show's unpredictable twists and turns. As you might expect from a show following a plane crash on a deserted island, not every character survived the full six seasons, and Somerhalder's Boone Carlyle was the first to go. For the actor, being the first to depart the island was a tough feeling to handle.
Speaking to People, Ian Somerhalder reflected on his frustration at being killed off on Lost. Somerhalder said he was the first actor to be cast in the hit series, so being...

Michael betrayed his allies to save his son, making the painful choice to kill Ana Lucia and Libby. Harold Perrineau felt Michael never redeemed himself after committing the murders. The cliffhanger of Michael killing Ana Lucia and Libby was a twist based on complex character motivations.
Even after multiple viewings of Lost, some fans still wonder, "Why did Michael kill Ana Lucia and Libby?" Michael Dawson (Harold Perrineau) is one of the show's most tragic and he kills Ana Lucia Cortez (Michelle Rodriguez) and Libby Smith (Cynthia Watros) for a dark reason. Michael and his son Walt (Malcolm David Kelley) end up on the island after Michael gained custody when Walt's mother died of an illness, and while they have a fractured relationship, Michael loves his child and would do anything for him.
That includes attempts to find a way off the island, which meant striking a deal with consequences.

Legacy sequel Twisters has finally hit theaters, and while it isn't directly tied to the original film, Brandon Perea, who plays Boone in the film, has stated that he was terrified of following in the footsteps of Philip Seymour Hoffman, whose character, Dustin, shares many similarities with his own. Since the original film's release, both Bill Paxton and Hoffman have sadly passed away. Even though their roles are non-recurring due to the film's standalone nature, Twisters does manage to retain some of the likable aspects of the original, especially Perea's character Boone, who is remarkably similar to Hoffman's Dustin "Dusty" Davies.
Brandon Perea spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that he did not initially know which character he would be playing in the blockbuster. He even said to his partner that whoever is picked to play Boone, the "Philip Seymour Hoffman type," would have a lot of "weight" on their shoulders.

If you were forced to pick a '90s blockbuster that lent itself to the legacy-sequel craze, the original "Twister" would probably be near the bottom of the list, and "Minari" director Lee Isaac Chung would be the very last name you'd pick to bring such a follow-up to life. Boy, what a difference nearly 30 years makes. Back then, there was practically a cottage industry built around productions featuring an A-list headliner surrounded by a strong stable of character actors, a journeyman filmmaker bringing a sturdy sense of direction, and a straightforward enough hook to put butts in seats. A movie like that merely needed a savvy marketing push and the promise of big-screen spectacle to set it on the right track ... and thrill-seeking audiences could be relied upon to take care of the rest and lead it to box-office glory, thank you very much.
