The droning theme music that plays whenever the main villain is on screen is the track "Super 16" by German band Neu!. It is a slowed-down version of the song "Super", which is also the music of the opening credits.
The One-Armed Bum smashes 7 flies with his hand, and then brags: "I killed seven with one blow!" This is based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale "The Brave Little Tailor," because he also had smashed 7 flies, and tried to make people think he had killed 7 enemy soldiers.
The export trailer for the film uses Ennio Morricone's music cue "The People Revolt", from the film La Bataille d'Alger (1966).
