I saw this movie dubbed from Dutch into Italian (I don't speak Italian or lipread Dutch) so I was pretty lost. I'm not sure whether anything was cut on Italian TV. But it must have been interesting, because I watched it all the way through and I still remember those endless fluttering curtains.
It's about a doctor who lives and works in a quiet village in Holland. One day an old friend from university (medicine) calls and visits him. They are recalling old memories and have a laugh. His friend Hans spends the night in his house. When doctor Pulder awakes he notices something strange...Hans is gone. He wants to find out what happened and he discovers something terrible but paradoxical it is also liberating. It is a great movie with brilliant acting and a very nice story.

Sadly but probably the worst movie of the best Dutch documantery maker. Maybe the acting is good but the fraternity characters are way too snobbish for this day and age. Enough masterpieces from Haanstra to choose from.
