Persuasion First Look Brings Dakota Johnson Into the World of Jane Austen on Netflix
Image
With Netflix's new take on Jane Austen's Persuasion promising to be a "modern and witty" take on the book with "color-blind" casting, we were given a first look at Dakota Johnson as Anne Elliot, along with co-star Nikki Amuka-Bird who plays Lady Russell, on the set in full costume. The images suggested that while they may be making it "modern", that clearly doesn't factor in the style or era in which the movie is set, as the attire is most certainly in keeping with Austen's time period.

Remembering Patty Shepard (1945-2013)
Born in 1945 in Greenville, South Carolina, Patty Moran Shepard died of a heart attack at her home on January 3 in Madrid, Spain, the same country that welcomed her in 1963, when she moved with her father, an Air Force officer.

After a successful career as a TV commercial model she debuted in the big screen in 1966, appearing in the years ahead in gialli (Mio Caro Assassino a.k.a. My Dear Killer 1972); spaghetti westerns, such as in Antonio Margheriti’s The Stranger And The Gunfighter (alongside two late, great action heroes, Lee Van Cleef and Lo Lieh), and in many horror movies shown in drive-ins through all the States in the late 70’s.

Her presence and talent will be eternally felt in our hearts, especially in those cold, full moon nights, when we can spot a graceful woman dressed in black walking softly between moldering tombs and hundred-year old crypts.

Muchas gracias for your work,...

If You Meet Sartana, Pray For Your Death
An insurance fiddle on a strongbox of gold is initiated by a scheming cabal of town dignitaries in Gianfranco Parolini's 1968 angel of death film ... If You Meet Sartana, Pray For Your Death. Into the breach steps the Sartana (Gianni Garko), the most stylish character ever to set foot in the usually grubby and sweat-drenched world of the Spaghetti Western. He takes it upon himself to serve justice upon the outlaws, Mexican bandits and corrupt officialdom, in the process walking away with a coffin-load of loot, as he influences events, turns up unexpectedly, or simply takes matters into his own hands with the silver Sharp's Derringer and Winchester rifle that play integral roles in his personal arsenal.

Ample death, ample destruction and muchos double-crossing quickly follow.

Sartana, to give it the more popular and less unwieldy title, brings together such heavyweights of the Spaghetti Western genre as Gianni Garko (Blood At Sundown,...
