All3Media International, the sales arm of the production-distribution U.K. giant behind such hits as “Fleabag” and “Midsomer Murders,” has struck key deals in multiple territories for New Pictures’ six-part thriller, “Protection.”

Sales follow the witness protection series’ critically acclaimed U.K. debut on ITV and Itvx. Among the new pacts are a digital rights deal with BritBox for the U.S. and English-speaking Canada; digital rights to Stan in Australia; TV rights to Tvnz in New Zealand and DVD/Video rights to ABC for Australia and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, BBC Studios has picked up “Protection” in a pan-territory deal encompassing Asia, India and the Indian subcontinent, where the drama will stream on BBC First, its premium SVOD drama channel, and its SVOD service, BBC Player.

“Protection” has also been snapped up across the Nordic territories, including Denmark (Dr), Norway (Nrk), Iceland (Ruv), Sweden (Svt) and Finland (Yle).

Ahead of her Doctor Who return, Millie Gibson's upcoming PBS drama The Forsytes has been renewed for a second season before the first season has had its release date confirmed. Gibson made her debut in Doctor Who season 14 as Ruby Sunday, the first companion of Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor who hoped to find the truth about her parent's identity. Adapting the novel series penned by John Galsworthy, which explores the lives of an upper-middle-class English family across several generations, The Forsytes is the third major television adaptation of the source material.

Exclusive: The Forsyte family looks set to become a fixture on PBS Masterpiece as the network is ready to renew the period drama before the first season has even premieres.

The Forsytes is a glossy adaptation of The Forsyte Saga, John Galsworthy’s sweeping portrait of a wealthy British family in 1880s London.

Deadline hears that filming on a second season is expected to take place over the summer in the UK, though PBS Masterpiece has not confirmed the drama’s renewal. A premiere date for Season 1 has yet to be revealed.

It comes after Paramount-owned broadcaster Channel 5 revealed that it had acquired The Forsytes in the UK. Channel 5 also combines with PBS Masterpiece on hit series All Creatures Great and Small.

Produced by Poldark maker Mammoth Screen, The Forsytes‘ ensemble cast is led by BAFTA-winner Francesca Annis (Lillie), who plays formidable matriarch Ann.

The Paramount network has taken UK rights on PBS Masterpiece’s splashy adaptation of John Galsworthy’s The Forsyte Saga, which stars Doctor Who’s Millie Gibson and Francesca Annis as formidable matriarch Ann.

Penned by British screenwriter Debbie Horsfield (Poldark), the series chronicles the lives of four generations of an upper-class family of stockbrokers, set against the backdrop of a rapidly evolving late-Victorian world. True Blood star Stephen Moyer (Sexy Beast) also features alongside the likes of Jack Davenport (The Morning Show) and Gibson.

This is the third Forsyte Saga adaptation. A version aired in 1967 on the BBC and 35 years later on ITV. The new show is made by ITV Studios-backed Mammoth Screen and is a rare example of a British show being greenlit by an American network, with Channel 5 coming in at a later date. All Creatures Great and Small is back!

The PBS TV show returns with Season 5 on Sunday night (January 12) at 9 p.m. Et.

The TV adaptation of the book series centers around James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph), fresh out of Glasgow Veterinary College, who pursues his dream to become a vet in the Yorkshire Dales. He discovers that treating the animals is as much about treating their owners, and the Dales’ farmers are a tough to please.

Here’s a Season 5 Episode 1 summary: “A medical scare keeps James’ feet firmly on the ground and Siegfried and Carmody get their wires crossed over an animal. Helen steps in to help an old family friend and Mrs. Hall faces trouble when she decides to help with the war effort.”

As if monster survival movies weren't cool enough, director Mike Wiluan is throwing enemy WWII soldiers into the mix for his new horror movie Orang Ikan, which recently unveiled its first trailer. Written and directed by Wiluan, the film takes influences from Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954), Predator, and even the Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One. Orang Ikan is set to make its world premiere this week at the Tokyo International Film Festival.

Starring Dean Fujioka (Fullmetal Alchemist) and Callum Woodhouse (All Creatures Great and Small), Orang Ikan follows two shipwrecked soldiers during WWII who find themselves on a mysterious jungle island. With one a Japanese soldier and the other a British prisoner-of-war, the pair are immediately at each other's throats once they gain consciousness. Exclusive: The trailer for Mike Wiluan’s historical monster film, Orang Ikan, has been unveiled, ahead of its world premiere in the Tokyo International Film Festival’s Gala section.

Set in 1942 in the Pacific, the film follows a Japanese soldier named Saito and a British prisoner-of-war named Bronson, who are stranded on a deserted island, hunted by a deadly creature known as the “Orang Ikan.”

Orang Ikan is directed and written by Mike Wiluan, who also helmed Buffalo Boys, Losmen Melati and co-produced Crazy Rich Asians.

The film stars actor-musician Dean Fujioka (Fullmetal Alchemist) and Callum Woodhouse (All Creatures Great and Small).

Rada-trained star of Zulu Dawn, Young Winston and Supergirl was 'one of the most admired actors of his generation'

The actor Simon Ward, who played the title role of Winston Churchill in 1972's Young Winston, has died after a long illness. He was 70.

The star of both stage and screen died "peacefully" on Friday, with his wife Alexandra and three daughters at his side.

Ward appeared as Sir Monty in the BBC legal drama Judge John Deed and as Bishop Gardiner in The Tudors. He also had roles on the big screen in Zulu Dawn and Young Winston.

A statement from Ward's agents, Shepherd Management, said: "The son of a car salesman from Beckenham, Kent, Ward wanted to be an actor from an early age and joined the National Youth Theatre at the age of 13 and stayed there for eight years.
