Great fun by George Lautner and Francis Veber!

This movie is an excellent and light comedy gently mocking racial prejudices between French, Jewish people and Arabs ... The actors are emblematic of the 70s in French cinema. Michel Constantin and the great Jean-Pierre Marielle, too often confined to supporting roles, are both perfect, as well as the magnificent Mireille Darc who plays with all her charm. We wouldn't make this kind of comedies anymore nowadays, politically too incorrect, which is a shame ... Another reason to watch it!

Excellent comedy

It is many years ago that I saw this film, but I still remember it as one of the best comedies I ever saw. Mireille Darc is a very attractive heroin of this turbulent, light hearted vaudeville, masterfully directed by George Lautner.

Mireille Darc - George Lautner...Who else?

During the late sixties and the whole seventies decade, if you had Mireille Darc in a cast, you had all the chances to also have George Lautner as director. Maybe not necessarily Michel Audiard at the screenplay, but the option was opened. This one is an excellent comedy yarn from the seventies and made by the great specialist Lautner. I usually avoid comedies, but those ones put some spice in my childhood period and the pleasure is still the same after all those decades. That's the only time Michel Constantin co stars Jean-Pierre Marielle. Constantin made comedies only with Lautner: NE NOUS FACHONS PAS, IL ETAIT UNE FOIS UN FLIC, LAISSE ALLER C'EST UNE VALSE. For the rest, he mainly played in crime thrillers.
