Finally made its DVD and Blu-ray debut on January 10, 2017 after only being available on VHS cassettes by CBS/FOX Video for three decades, digital streaming on websites such as Amazon and the Fox Movie Channel.
When Cleavon Little and the other servants pull up to rob the grocery store with a fake gun to steal the cash register, the sign on the store reads, "Crown Point Market". Crown Point, Indiana was the town where real life gangster John Dillinger famously broke out of jail using a fake gun.
Richard Masur worked as an assistant zoo keeper in the Bronx Zoo as a teenager and young adult and used his expertise to handle one of the ostrich's in the scene where his character of Georgie has to move and maneuver the large 250-pound bird from a car to a pen on-screen.
Vincent Price plays a games inventor named Milton Parker, which is a combination of two famous board game company names (Milton Bradley & Parker Brothers).
Director Michael Schultz has stated that this is his most popular film that he has ever directed which includes his hit films, The Last Dragon, Car Wash and Bustin' Loose.
