The film's unique storyline, star-studded cast, and visual effects set it apart, showcasing the beauty of practical glowing effects on character suits. Tron's journey from inception to production was filled with challenges.
Written and directed by Steven Lisberger, the original Tron (1982) is known around the industry today for its game-changing tactics of visual effects. Of course, it's also a high-quality film, spawning a franchise down the line that consisted of a sequel titled Tron: Legacy (2010) and a spin-off show that was subtitled Uprising (20122013). That wasn't entirely by virtue of enticing visuals, however. The original entry features solid screenwriting with convincing efforts from its star-studded cast.
