John Vernon (Dean Wormer), Stephen Furst (Flounder), Bruce McGill (D-Day) and James Widdoes (Hoover) were the only cast members to reprise their roles from the movie.
This TV show was toned down considerably from this it's source film, Animal House. The name was even changed to Delta House for this reason - it was thought the original title might be considered offensive.
The character Bluto's absence from the series was explained that he went into the Army following the events of Animal House. Other prominent characters from Animal House, such as Boon, Jennings, and Babs, were absent from Delta House; however, their absence was not explained.
Theme song written by Jim Steinman of Bat Out of Hell fame, he would later rework it to create the hit single Dead Ringer for Love by Meat Loaf & Cher.
