Deborah Rush's debut.
Candice Bergen takes over the female lead from Ali MacGraw. Ali MacGraw had previously been married to Steve McQueen, and appeared in Le souffle de la guerre (1983). Candice Bergen appeared in La canonnière du Yang-Tsé (1966) with both Steve McQueen and Richard Attenborough. Richard Attenborough directed both Ryan O'Neal in Un pont trop loin (1977), and Candice Bergen in Gandhi (1982). The latter film also featured John Gielgud, who appeared in Le souffle de la guerre (1983)'s sequel, Les orages de la guerre (1988), in which Ali MacGraw was replaced by Richard Attenborough's former daughter-in-law, Jane Seymour.
