CBS will present Ringo & Friends at the Ryman, a two-hour special celebrating the music and legacy of Ringo Starr through the lens of country music, airing Monday, March 10 on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.

Taped on Jan. 14 and Jan. 15 at the historic Ryman Auditorium – the “Mother Church of Country Music” – this once-in-a-lifetime event features exclusive performances of Ringo’s solo hits, Beatles classics and tracks from his recently released country album Look Up, produced and co-written by T Bone Burnett.

The “Don’t Pass Me By” singer told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday that rumors of Keoghan portraying him in Sam Mendes’ four-part movie series are just “great.”

“Well, I think it’s great. I think he’s somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many,” Starr shared. “You gotta let them get their own feel. I did a MasterClass, and we were talking about, ‘You know, I’m not asking you to play like me, but you have to have this movement that you can do this stuff.'”

Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band have canceled the last two shows on his North American summer tour after the former Beatle came down with a cold.

The two shows were scheduled to take place tonight, Sept. 24, in Philadelphia and tomorrow, Sept. 25, in New York City. Ticket holders can seek refunds at the point of purchase.

“Ringo has come down with a cold and after consulting a doctor he was advised to cancel these two remaining shows and get rest,” a note on the drummer’s Instagram page read.

It’s a sad day for “Bounty Law” fans. Rick Dalton, the actor who rose to prominence for playing Jake Cahill on the popular Western series, died at the age of 90 today. If you believe Quentin Tarantino, that is.

The official Twitter account for Tarantino and Roger Avary’s Video Archives Podcast announced the news that the fictional actor, who was played by Leonardo DiCaprio in “Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood” is no longer alive in the universe of Tarantino films.

We are saddened by the news of the passing of actor Rick Dalton, best known for his roles in the hit TV series Bounty Law and The Fireman trilogy.

Rick passed away peacefully in his home in Hawaii and is survived by his wife Francesca.

52 years after it was first produced, a rare piece of Beatles history is available on YouTube. A Christmas compilation Paul McCartney created for his bandmates has been uploaded online.

The compilation is titled Unforgettable, and it is believed that only three copies of it were ever printed: one each for John, George, and Ringo, who received it on acetate discs as Christmas presents in 1965. On the album, McCartney plays the role of DJ, introducing each of the compiled songs and adding in some improv of his own. "And so in this program, Unforgettable, we hope that you are not gonna forget us and are gonna join in," McCartney riffs in his introduction.

Unforgettable takes its name from the Nat King Cole number that leads it off. Other songs featured in the compilation include "I Get Around" by The Beach Boys and "Don't Be Cruel" by Elvis Presley.

Of all the art that the Beatles brought into the world, their cinematic misadventures are probably less fondly remembered than their music. But in addition to 12 studio albums, 13 EPs, and 22 singles, the Fab Four also released five films in their comparatively few years together. These efforts comprised two feature films, a TV movie, a cartoon, and a documentary, all of admittedly inconsistent quality. Looking back now, these films provide a fascinating insight into the phenomenon of Beatlemania.

For Beatles fanatics such as myself, the music alone makes them a joy to watch and re-watch, but as pieces of cinema in their own right there’s plenty to still be enjoyed and appreciated.

Paul McCartney took the term “solo album” to the next level on his first release following the dissolution of the Beatles in 1970. The multi-talented musician played every instrument on the appropriately titled McCartney, drawing on skills he’d honed through years serving as the group’s utility man — mastering guitar, bass, piano, and even drums. (That’s him, not Ringo Starr, behind the kit on “Back in the U.S.S.R,” “Dear Prudence,” and “The Ballad of John and Yoko.”)

The one-man-band approach was temporarily retired after he formed Wings in 1971, but McCartney continued to play a variety of instruments throughout his career.

By the late-1980s, Paul McCartney may have been the only artist on the planet uninterested in sounding like the Beatles. But then his new collaborator, fellow British superstar Elvis Costello, reunited him with an old friend: his iconic violin-shaped Hofner bass. The instrument had last seen action during the band’s final live performance on the roof of their London offices almost two decades before, and a faded setlist from their last tour remained affixed to the side with yellowed scotch tape. “He was a big Beatles fan and said, ‘Hey, do you still use your Hofner?’” McCartney tells People exclusively.

Chicago – Scott Freiman is an entrepreneur, producer, composer and musicologist, and turned his primary passion – painstakingly delving into the song production techniques of The Beatles – into a series of lectures called “Deconstructing The Beatles.” He has turned those lectures into films, and “Deconstructing The Beatles Sgt. Carrie Fisher, best known for her iconic role of Princess Leia in the “Star Wars” franchise, died on Tuesday, December 27, four days after suffering a heart attack. She was 60.

The family’s spokesman Simon Halls released a statement on behalf of Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd.

“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,” reads the statement. “She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”

There’s a real overlap in sensibility between director and subject in the new documentary about the Fab Four. Ron Howard is a studio craftsman who specializes in crowd-pleasing entertainment, and his new film The Beatles: Eight Days A Week focuses on the band during their crowd-pleasing years: the era between 1962 and 1966 when they toured the world, delivering smiling and effervescent performances to throngs of shrieking fans. John, Paul, George, and Ringo had yet to rebel against the cheeky and appealing let’s-put-on-a-show vibe of their public image, and that sense of upbeat energy fuses ideally with Howard’s enthusiastic fan-service approach to the material. It’s a testament to the buoyancy of the film that such exhausted, well-trod material can still feel fresh.

And make no mistake, there is absolutely nothing new under the British sun here, which isn’t surprising for a Beatles documentary in 2016 ...

"He guided the career of The Beatles with such skill and good humour that he became a true friend to me and my family. If anyone earned the title of the fifth Beatle it was George. From the day that he gave The Beatles our first recording contract, to the last time I saw him, he was the most generous, intelligent and musical person I've ever had the pleasure to know.
