Mel Gibson, the actor who played "Mad Max" Rockatansky in the first entries of the franchise created by George Miller, has revealed which of the films in the dystopian universe is his favorite. Although Gibson has recently shown his power to divide, it's fair to say that this time we agree with him.
Per the report by Screen Rant, Gibson recently appeared at MegaCon Orlando, where he spoke about his run in the Mad Max franchise from 1979 to 1985. Gibson made a total of three Mad Max films: 1979's Mad Max, 1981's The Road Warrior, and 1985's Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. During a panel, the actor/director behind classics like Braveheart and the Lethal Weapon franchise revealed that his favorite Mad Max movie was the second entry, The Road Warrior:
I think the second installment was the best. It was just pure. It was just a chase. From an audience point of view,...

Back in the day, when the likes of Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, and Harrison Ford were ruling Hollywood’s cinematic industry with their outstanding performances, Mel Gibson made sure he was one of the names counted among those A-listers as well. Within a few years of making his professional acting debut through The Sullivans, he earned his breakthrough with Mad Max.
Since then, he went on to score roles among numerous masterpieces, further cementing himself as a household name and establishing his reputation as one of the most admirable actors in the entertainment industry. If anything, in his prime, Gibson pulled off some really iconic wonders as he not only became the recipient of some major awards but also had some epic salary highlights.

Mel Gibson became a top movie star quickly but faced controversies that derailed his career for years. Despite a tumultuous past, Gibson's net worth hit around $425 million from his film work. The actor/director faced a decade of blacklisting due to various incidents involving racism and abuse.
Mel Gibson was one of the premiere movie stars of the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, which is when he earned his tremendous net worth before some controversial events knocked him from his perch. Born in the United States, Gibson's large family moved to Australia when he was 12 (via female). Gibson began his career on the stage for a brief period, but he moved into television roles in The Sullivans and Cop Shop, but fame came quickly after Mel Gibson was cast in Mad Max as the titular character.

Mel Gibson's 1990s science fiction film, Signs, became his highest-grossing movie, earning over $408 million worldwide. Signs, directed by M. Night Shyamalan, showcases Gibson's range as an actor, tackling themes of faith and grief alongside eerie cinematography. Despite being known for action roles, Signs' success surprised many, showcasing Gibson's ability to excel in sci-fi and mystery genres.
Though not the most famous entry in his filmography, a 1990s science fiction movie achieved a stunning box office record for Mel Gibson. Gibson has a career that spans over four decades, and his first accredited acting role was in Summer City as Scollop. In the late eighties and nineties, he became a household name with roles in the Lethal Weapon series, Braveheart, and Ransom, and these movies dominated the box office when they were released and generated interest in Mel Gibson's film career. In Australia for the premiere of The Hateful Eight, Tarantino – who coined the term ‘Ozploitation’ – discusses some of his favourite local films
Quentin Tarantino has championed a great many films from across the globe over the years, with a famously impassioned shouty zeal. When the superstar auteur gets excited he tends to flail his arms, as if feeling around for invisible airborne punctuation marks, while spraying his sentences with words such as “alright!” and drawing from a gallingly encyclopaedic bank of trash-and-treasure knowledge.
Few Australians – and I’m including critics in this – have seen or championed as many Australian films (particularly older ones) as Tarantino. He’s credited several Australian productions for directly influencing his work, including schlock-tastic 1978 thriller Patrick, which inspired some of Kill Bill. On countless Australian DVD dust jackets, the writer/director/uber film nerd’s name appears underneath an effusive quote, from classic surfer drama Summer City...

Mel Gibson, whom I interviewed for Venice Magazine in late 2000, was my first real childhood hero I sat down with. If you were a Gen-x male, Mel Gibson was the closest thing we had to Paul Newman, Steve McQueen and Sean Connery: a guy's guy whom guys wanted to emulate and women wanted to copulate. If you were a guy who liked girls, the math in the previous equation was pretty simple: be like Mel. Sadly, Gibson's life has taken a very public turn for the worse in the last decade, since his personal legal and troubles stemming from a 2006 DUI arrest in Malibu were made public, one from which his image has yet to fully recover. It was an unfortunate fall from grace for a guy who literally had Hollywood, and the world, in the palm of his hand after sweeping the 1995 Oscars with his box office smash "Braveheart.

Gibson's Former Co-star Takes Aim At 'Despicable' Grigorieva
Australian actor John Jarratt has lashed out at Oksana Grigorieva - branding her a "despicable person" who made a "mockery" of Mel Gibson by taping his alleged phone rants.
Gibson has been hit with a series of scandals this month after several separate tape recordings were released online, in which the actor can allegedly be heard making various threats towards Grigorieva.
In one taped call, a man said to be the Braveheart star hurls abuse and berates Grigorieva over her dress sense, purportedly telling her, "You look like a f**king pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n**gers, it will be your fault."
But Wolf Creek star Jarrett, who has been pals with Gibson since they starred in Summer City in 1977, insists the alleged rants were taken out of context and were part of a private argument that should never have been made public.
He tells Sydney's Daily Telegraph, "I've had a few blues (arguments) with my partner and they're not very nice, the 'C' word has been used on both sides. But no one has put that up on the internet, thankfully.
"On the two occasions (Gibson) has been outed, one he was drunk and talking (confidentially) to a police officer and the other was a tape that was released. It's not like he has come out in public and said all these nasty things. He was drunk... like none of us have been?"
"If my daughter went into the Outback in a pair of hot pants, I would say, 'Be careful you don't get raped by a bunch of rednecks.' That doesn't mean everyone in the Outback is a redneck. It was said in the heat of the moment."
And he blames Russian singer Grigorieva for Gibson's damaged reputation - insisting she's out to wreck his life.
Jarrett adds, "The despicable person in this is the woman, who has disgustingly taped this guy because he's extremely famous and tried to ruin his life. She has taped an argument they are having in an acrimonious split - something that happened behind closed doors - and he's been made a mockery of. It's disgusting."...
