Stars: José María Guillén, Mariana Karr, Ángel Aranda, Sandra Alberti | Written and Directed by Carlos Puerto
Carlos Puerto’s Satan’s Blood, originally released in 1978, is an eerie and unsettling Spanish horror film that taps into the rising wave of supernatural and occult-themed cinema of the era. Produced by Juan Piquer Simón, the film blends elements of satanic panic, psychological terror, and eroticism, creating a disturbing experience that lingers long after the credits roll. While Satan’s Blood may not be as widely recognized as other European horror classics, it remains an atmospheric and effective shocker that deserves more attention from genre aficionados.
The story follows a young couple, Andrés (José María Guillén) and Ana (Mariana Karr), who encounter an older, seemingly friendly couple, Bruno (Ángel Aranda) and Berta (Sandra Alberti), while on a drive through the countryside. After a chance meeting, Bruno claims to know Andrés from years past and invites...

Fans of Dad's Army have been told to heed the "Don't Panic" catchphrase made famous by the late Clive Dunn, who played Corporal Jones, as there is a re-invention of the classic sitcom in the pipeline. Nearly four decades since the last episode of the show about bumbling Home Guard soldiers, co-writer Jimmy Perry has revealed a film version is in the works. Perry revealed to a meeting of the Dad's Army Appreciation Society that a film version could be developed – but received a round of "groans". Perhaps because speculation emerged that Captain Mainwaring, played by Arthur Lowe in the series, might be played by a woman. Permission to speak, ma'am.

Although Mad Men and American Horror Story led the race with 17 nominations each, the casts of Modern Family, Homeland and Game Change are the ones who will be really celebrating after Sunday's 64th Primetime Emmy Awards. Eric Stonestreet took home the first award of the night for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy, setting the tone for the rest of the evening. In a repeat of last year's early Emmys sweep for the series, Julie Bowen took home the best supporting actress award, marking her second consecutive win in the category, followed by the show's co-creator Steve Levitan winning the Emmy for outstanding comedy direction.

In May, 2011, Matt Smith's 11th Doctor appeared with his companions Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill in an episode of Doctor Who penned by Neil Gaiman.
In the story, The Doctor's Wife, the Time Lord answers a distress call and finds himself in a junkyard on a sentient asteroid. The strange inhabitants include a woman called Idris, played by Suranne Jones, who turns out to have an unexpected link with the Tardis.
The story won a Ray Bradbury Award for Outstanding Dramatic Presentation at the 2011 Nebula Awards, presented in May this year, and has been nominated at the 2012 Hugo Awards, which take place in Chicago from August 30 to September 3.
Since the episode aired, there has been speculation that Gaiman would write for the sci-fi show again. So what does the author himself have to say?

You may find the new Ben Stiller movie The Watch strangely familiar. But that's not necessarily a good thing
You might be forgiven for thinking that you've seen The Watch before. Not because Ben Stiller's character is the same uptight blowhard that he has played in everything for the past 15 years, or because Richard Ayoade is basically just Moss from The It Crowd again, or because Vince Vaughn remains content to sit back and bibble out the same directionless patter that has been his stock in trade for what seems like centuries.
No. The reason is because, once you've scraped away all the sex jokes and clanging Costco product placement, you're basically left with Dad's Army. Both are essentially stories about a group of ill-prepared middle-aged incompetents trying to escape the monotony of their day-to-day lives by fudging together a defence against an enemy they don't fully understand. With The Watch,...

Don't panic Iron Man fans! The brilliant Robert Downey Jr. is perfectly fine and there's certainly no reason to think that the release of Iron Man 3 will be at all affected by this news. SuperHero Hype received the following statement from Marvel Studios today telling them that production has been slightly delayed after the actor suffered an ankle injury during a the filming of a stunt scene for the Shane Black helmed flick. Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates. At the San Diego Comic-Con last month, Downey actually revealed that he pushed to be involved in as many stunts as possible in this third instalment of the franchise, and a few photos and videos posted here on Cbm have shown...

NBC News is speaking out against a New York Daily News report that Hoda Kotb flew to London on Friday to bolster ratings for the show's Olympics coverage.
NBCUniversal paid $1.18 billion for exclusive rights to the Olympic Games broadcast in the U.S., and during the games, viewership generally surges 30 percent. Yet on Thursday, with the “Today” team reporting from London, ABC's "Good Morning America" was still able to win by nearly 400,000 viewers in the overnight ratings, recording one of its biggest wins all year, according to The New York Times.
The New York Daily News reported Tuesday that parachuting Hoda Kotb across the pond was a direct response to the ratings flop. The paper splashed the story on the front page.
"They're just shoehorning her into the show to help bring it alive," the source told the Daily News. “They called Hoda on Thursday begging her to go to...

Sunday July 15th is the last day of Comic-Con 2012, and most of us will be completely worn out looking like Spider-Man in the image above. Chances are he's asleep under that mask. Sunday has always been a cool down day for us, we kind of just try to relax a little bit more and enjoy it. That doesn't mean their isn't anything to see or do though!
We've got a Fringe screening and Q&A, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer 20th Anniversary, Sons of Anarchy, the annual Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical screening, and more! I've always wanted to go the Buffy musical sing-a-long, but am usually trying to leave San Diego before it starts.
Just a little reminder, we will be having our annual GeekTyrant meet up this year to meet our readers, which is something we always enjoy doing! That will take place on Wednesday night, and...

Comic-Con Sundays are typically light on horror, and this year is no exception although once again our favorite panel, "Supernatural", is heading to Hall H. Here are the genre highlights as well as info on the 36th annual Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive.
One thing we can't stress enough is to keep checking the Sdcc website for updates as nothing's set in stone until the event actually starts happening.
10:00-11:00 Emily the Strange— Be a part of the Emily the Strange panel experience, where you have the chance to prove your knowledge of Strange and win prizes, learn what's new in Emily's oddball universe (including a sneak peek at the new Emily and the Strangers comic book series), and Q&A with Emily's creator Rob Reger, artist Buzz Parker, and writer Jessica Gruner. Did we mention you will get some cool stuff just for showing up and being Strange?...

Like, Omg: the first video has emerged of adorable British boy band One Direction and their first appearance on an American scripted TV show. The guys shot a quick guest spot on Nickelodeon's "iCarly" back in January, and now the fruits of their day-long labor are finally seeing the light of day.
Sure, it is only a 41-second clip, but here's what we know about their appearance: They have floppy hair and British accents. One of them is named Harry, and he gets sick. (Don't Panic, Girls: he's Acting, so he's just fine.)
Basically, the teenage girls (or those with inner teenage girls) in your life are gonna lose it when this episode finally airs on Sunday, April 7. "Glee" is getting in on the act too, with the McKinley High New Directions set to cover One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" in an upcoming episode.

Coldplay Offered Up Free Song For Braff's Movie Soundtrack
Rockers Coldplay waived their usual fee to feature on the soundtrack of Zach Braff's 2004 movie Garden State because they loved the film so much.
Braff has been friends with frontman Chris Martin for years, and he was delighted when the band offered their song Don't Panic as part of the movie's score.
He tells London's Time Out magazine, "Chris Martin and the guys in Coldplay put their song on my soundtrack.
"Garden State was, you know, this little movie, and they just said yes because they liked the movie and not for, at the time, any dough (money), because we couldn't offer them any."...

We miss David Lynch terribly.
Don't panic—the inimitable 65-year-old director of "Eraserhead," "The Elephant Man" and Lost Highway" has not died or retired, but he seems to have turned his back on film for the time being. His last movie, 2006's "Inland Empire," was an all-digital production that was obtuse even for Lynch's standards. Instead, Lynch seems more interested in music nowadays—he directed a concert for Duran Duran that streamed live from Los Angeles and he just put out a new album today titled "Crazy Clown Time."
The release of "Crazy Clown Time" coincides with the Blu-ray debut of "Blue Velvet," his gorgeously filmed 1986 masterpiece starring Kyle MacLachlan, Laura Dern, Dennis Hopper and Isabella Rossellini for which Lynch was nominated for a Best Director Oscar. The story is about clean-cut Jeffrey Beaumont (MacLachlan), a college student who returns home to the small town of Lumberton to assist with...

The debut feature from Mexican director and film-maker Fernando Barredo Luna, Atrocious utilizes the well-worn idea of found camcorder footage. Beginning with the cryptic quotation, “The mind is like a labyrinth in which anyone can get lost”, the film creates the anticipation of unexpected plot twists and turns. Although remaining true to its start, Atrocious begins simply enough with two teenage siblings introducing themselves and explaining they'll investigate “urban legends” while holidaying at a house in Sitges that's been abandoned for ten years.

Don't panic at the title of this story. This is not an article claiming that Harrison Ford and James Franco are equally talented actors, or that they've had the same impact on movie culture, or that the son of the Green Goblin is as valuable a character as Indiana Jones and Han Solo. This is an article about Harrison Ford and James Franco as people, or at least the uncomfortable, bored, sometimes vaguely hostile people we know through their talk show, red carpet and junket interviews. In his 30+ years of stardom Harrison Ford has perfected his reputation as a cranky old man, to the point that even when he does interviews to promote movies he's the star of, he seems to have absolutely no interest in the movie, the person interviewing him, or anything but the clock counting down the minutes before he can finally go the hell home. Happy Towel Day! I hope all of you have been spending your day in appreciation of the genius of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Discussion question for the evening: has the emergence of tablet PCs and the iPad give us actual Hitchhiker's Guides? Hell, even smart phones at this point have given us the ability to access a wealth of information and directions from virtually anywhere. Well, anywhere with cell service so depending on which carrier you're with... whenever you're near a major city or suburban area if you're lucky. The bottom line is that I really want a cover for my cell phone that says "Don't Panic" on it in large, friendly looking letters. Here's your Wednesday night TV:

Do you know where your towel is? Have you spent any portion of today walking around with a towel? If so, I received some potentially very exciting news in my email inbox this morning. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, Don't Panic. Hothead Games has just announced that they're working on a new game based on Douglas Adams' beloved "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" book series. Surely great news for you froods out there.
Ok, so maybe you're so unfortunate that you've never read "The Hitchhiker's Guide." All this talk of towels and froods might have your eyes going criss-cross, so here's a quick explanation: Douglas Adams' series – which began as a BBC radio broadcast and was later adapted into five books, a mini-series, and movie – is one of the single greatest bits of science fiction ever created. Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.

So you're driving down the highway in your brand new Nissan Leaf Ev, thinking about how you're so environmentally responsible, and all of a sudden you realize that you might run out of power before reaching your destination. This scenario is still a rare one, granted, but gas prices are shooting up (just wait until $6 per gallon gas in the U.S., coming to a station near you this summer). It will become more even more common as people push their electric charges to the limit to avoid shelling out for gas. Don't panic--a handful of companies are stepping up to provide smartphone-ready charge station maps that can help when you're in a fix.

On Saturday night between 8:30 and 9:30, you may notice that world seems darker. Don't panic, it's just Earth Hour, the WWF-sponsored event designed to raise awareness about how much energy we use.
The relative merits of the event in terms of energy saving and symbolism aside, Earth Hour has grown impressively in the last four years, from a Sydney, Australia-only event to a global holiday embraced by millions of people and thousands of businesses and municipalities. Last year, major monuments like the Golden Gate Bridge and the Taj Mahal turned off their exterior lights. Most of the Vegas strip went dark. Coca-Cola even turned off their Times Square Billboard.
This year, Walgreens plans on turning off its own Times Square billboard, the largest digital sign in the country. Hilton Hotels will be turning off their rooftop neon lights and business center equipment (send your faxes early!). Caesar's casinos will...

Got plans for Valentine's Day? No? Does the thought of getting back into dating give you cold feet? Don't panic—Atom.com has got you covered with its newest original web series My Anime Girlfriend. The four-episode series, created and directed by Daniel J. Powell, premiered last week on the Comedy Central web portal, and features Saturday Night Live's and King of the Hill's Abby Elliott as the voice of the lovely animated japanese cartoon character Yuruki, who helps Sid (played by Patrick Shepard) ease back into the dating game. It's like Cool World, but even creepier. From the show page: Sid is getting back in the dating game, and his friend John has the perfect girl for him, Yuruki. She's cute, fun, and extremely animated. If anything, maybe too animated. In the first episode we learn that the self effacing Yuruki is actually a bad ass assassin,...

Traditionally, when a studio bumps back the release date of a film, critics and fans alike assume the worst; that the film has serious story problems; that test audiences didn't like it…and so forth.

The Rupert Wyatt-directed film has swapped debut dates with Mr. Popper’s Penguins, a new family comedy starring Jim Carrey.
Don't panic just yet, though. Fox's reasons for the shift may be wholly their own, and have nothing to do with a lack of confidence in the film. In fact, co-star Tyler Labine has told Screen Junkies...
