A Complete Mess

In Rio de Janeiro, the dancer Ness Elliot (Anecy Rocha) of a cabaret in Lapa accepts to bring a package of drugs from São Paulo for Tonico (Tonico Pereira) to raise money. However she is stolen and returns to the cabaret. Soon her baby Guri Guri is abducted and the kidnapper asks a high amount as ransom. Ness seeks for help with the journalist Peréio (Paulo César Peréio), who has a crush on her, and the crook Claudio (Cláudio Marzo) that is also involved in the kidnapping.

"A Lira do Delírio" is a movie without screenplay with a story that is a complete mess. The cast uses their real name with the exception of the lead actress. Anecy Rocha, sister of Glauber Rocha and wife of the director Walter Lima Jr., died before the edition of the movie. There is a polemic scene in the beginning in the Carnival with the Lyre of the Desire in Niterói, with the lesbian kiss of Anecy Rocha and the singer Nara Leão. My vote is four.

Title (Brazil): "Lira do Delírio" ("The Lyre of the Desire")
