This film was made after the film The Single Girls (1974), which also starred the 1970 Playboy Playmate of the Year Claudia Jennings and was also directed by husband/wife team Ferd and Beverly Sebastian, but was released a year before. The three of them became close friends while making The Single Girls and Jennings asked them to write a film for her. That is how they ended up making 'Gator Bait.
