Naked and free in the deep blue sea!

What a waste of time...unless you happen to enjoy two little boys spending most of their time in their 'birthday suits' on a tropical island. Horribly acted and photographed, but a 'favorite' of bare little boy movie lovers. Chris Young's score is actually better than the movie. Note: this was originally a feature-film at 85+ minutes, but was cut way down to 'keep the interest' of the boy...er...movie-watchers.

A early Black Stallion (1979) and Island of Blue Dolphin type film

Film has its flaws-but the ideal is magical and it does have its own beauty. My kids 8,9 years old loved it but my 14 year old thought the story line somewhat ridiculous that these two kids could survive on this island and being too Disney like in nature suggesting the kids looked like two boys skipping from school rather than facing survival on a deserted island.Instead,I Suggest the original 1965 lord of the flies film if this kind of movie interest you. This Film is far more likely to be enjoyed by kids than adults-the kids in my 3rd grade class enjoyed it but I found myself nearly yawning at times.Of course, I think simply watching anyone enjoying a Caribbean paradise makes a film easy to watch and making it possibly too easy-perhaps too easy to make a good film. One can be sure these young actors had a ball making this movie.A cute and happy film but not much more.

Interesting remake of the Crusoe classic

Interesting remake of the classic Crusoe story. But now Robby is a little boy marooned on the beautiful desert island, and Friday is also a little boy. The story of their survival you know already, what is interesting is the casting of the two boys as the main characters.

A film to warm you on a cold winter's evening. As the boys gamble on the tropic beaches and play in the lush jungle, the viewer gets a sense of a tropic paradise.

Interesting too is that the director's son, Warren Raum plays the boy Robinson. He's a gorgeous blond chap with a deep mahogany tan. Ryp Siani plays the boy Friday as a native castaway, not the English Friday of the novel. Where have these two boys got to? They have been rescued and have simply disappeared.

    Family Film With Heart

Robby is a family film with heart. Near the end of the movie, with Robby and Friday in the back seat of the large family car, the automobile stopped in the driveway, and Robby said, "Friday, we're home. We're home!" That hit my heart strings, bringing emotion, feelings, and appreciation, and tears rolled down my face. Family is what this life is all about; our life orbits around our family, and going home is wonderful.

The first time I saw this move was when I was an age 8 boy with my Dad, on our living room television, in 1971. For armature actors, they acted well. Filming on location was a good choice. Filmed in 1968 with that technology, it turned out fine. Perhaps an improved title would have been "Robby Shipwrecked" or something similar. I enjoyed the family film.

    Sweet but racist

Well is a cute movie in a general sense, but is kind of racist anyway...Cos´ Why is ever the outside that come´s to teach lenguage? Why the island kid not can teach some native lenguage to the other kid too? Why the city life is better than the island life? Why the island kid needs wear pants? Is a very little portrait of the colony way...Well in some point the island kid is fall apart, don´t have history or any to show...is kind of unilateral treatment...And then the friendship is an ilusion...
