The first edition of the UK VHS by IFS was uncut and was later put on the infamous list of video nasties. The later released UK VHS by Satanica/Sovereign and the UK DVD by Film 2000 are cut and contain the same cut version. Both releases have the BBFC 18 symbol. The film was cut in advance by the publisher for the VHS release and this version was submitted to the BBFC. Equally to the cinema release they demanded further cuts to give a BBFC 18 rating. This arises from a conclusion from the official BBFC cut-list, which lists fewer cuts than those which were actually made in the film. So for example, the eye-scene is missing in the BBFC list, although it was censored.
