I saw this movie in 1999 and saw it again and my thoughts haven't changed much.
Positives:
This is certainly a movie for those of you who like films to delve into the psyche of human beings-- and what interesting creatures we mortals be. The beginning was a bit typical, but as the story unfolds (and folds upon its unfortunate players), the twists of plot are very interesting and make the normally stale 3 hours of typical indian-movie-watching into a pretty enjoyable experience with this movie. The acting by Waheeda Rehman and Dilip Kumar is wonderfully subtle. And don't flinch because it was made before you were born! It deserves an 8/10.
Negatives:
The main downsides are that the very beginning was weak, the songs aren't that great, and its emphasis on self-sacrifice is a little typical. It seems a lot of the earlier indian movies (60's/70's-ish, and even Souten and Sharabi in the 80's) had characters who were prepared to flay themselves for others -- that martyr-like characterization does get redundant. Still, Souten and Sharabi were a great movies and so is this one.

This is certainly a movie for those of you who like films to delve into the psyche of human beings-- and what interesting creatures we mortals be. At first this seems to be a regular but well made indian drama, but as the tragedy unfolds (and folds upon it's unfortunate players), you really start feeling for the protagonists. It also has a good deal of surprises and twists of plot that make the normally often stale 3 hours of indian movie watching into an enjoyable experience. The songs aren't that great but the movie is well worth watching. And don't flinch because it was made before you were born! It deserves at least an 8.5/10
Aadmi is a romantic drama film directed by Late A. Bhimsingh. The film stars Late Dilip Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Manoj Kumar, Simi Garewal and Late Pran.
An obsessive young man, confined to a wheelchair after an accident, finds out that his fiancee and his best friend are having an affair. His rage turns into murderous intent against his best friend.
This film displays some of the greatest acting display by all the lead actors and honestly i am very much impressed by Dilip Sahab and Waheeda Rehman who were just superb in this film and is beautifully supported by Manoj Kumar.
The plot of the film is good and the execution is also good. The film displays the human psychology of jealousy and remorse in a very subtle yet perfect way. The grey shade of the character of Dilip sahab shows why he is being considered as one of the greatest actor of his era and not only his era but in the history of Indian cinema.
The songs of the film is decent as the songs might be popular at the time of the release of the film. The acting in the film is strong and all the characters were superb in their respective roles. The film should be appreciated for super acting by Dilip Sahab, Waheeda Rehman, Manoj Kumar and Pran sahab.
The screenplay of the film is good and the climax of the film is predictable but good. A must watch film if you are looking for a film with powerful acting.

Aadmi is a movie for every Hindi film buff. If you admire Dilip Kumar & Manoj Kumar (who is a great fan of Dilip Kumar himself) then this is a must see. In some scenes Manoj Kumar even overshadows his guru Dilip. The story moves very fast. Songs are exceptional with 3 great Rafi hits - 1)AAj Purani Rahon mein 2) Kaisi haseen raat & 3) Na Aadmi ka koyee bharosa. I saw this movie in 1968 when it was released. It ran to full houses in Bangalore, where I was then. So it is not fair to say that it was not a super hit.
The treatment may be a bit melodramatic by today's standards but definitely convincing with excellent music / editing and background score.
Waheeda Rehman also puts in a stellar performance and looks stunning.
This is a movie, if you miss it, you will miss a great experience.
