Brian D. Young ("180 Degrees") has been hired to pen a re-write of the film adaptation of Jeffrey Archer's 2005 novel "False Impression" at New Franchise Media says The Hollywood Reporter.
An action-crime novel set on several continents, the story begins with a woman who escaped the 9/11 attack after being fired by her banker boss. She then helps a British lady try to sell a Van Gogh painting while both a mercenary and an FBI agent are on her trail.
New Franchise acquired the worldwide film, TV and digital rights to ten of Archer's novels a while back with Richard Regen working on a script based on "A Matter of Honor" and its follow-up "Honor Among Thieves" for Kennedy/Marshall. [1] Brit writer Jeffrey Archer is having quite a month. Hot on the heels of last week's story [2] that Bourne producer Frank Marshall would be developing a spy movie franchise based on Archer's novels A Matter of Honor and Honor Among Thieves comes news that another one of Archer's books -- The Eleventh Commandment -- is being developed as a thriller television series by The Walking Dead producer Gale Ann Hurd. The story follows CIA assassin Connor Fitzgerald, who finds himself facing off against his own boss, agency chief Helen Dexter. Meanwhile, a ruthless Russian power is plotting to start World War III. Read more after the jump. A Matter of Honor, Honor Among Thieves, and The Eleventh Commandment are all part of a package of ten Archer novels recently acquired by New Franchise Media, and the Canadian equity firm is wasting no time making use of the rights. Move over, Jason Bourne and Bourne-But-Not-Really. There’s about to be a new book spawned spy in town.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Frank Marshall is bringing Jeffery Archer’s “A Matter of Honor” to the big screen, with an eye towards turning its main man, Adam Scott, into the star of a thrilling franchise. Now, Adam Scott is only the star of one Archer novel, “A Matter of Honor.” But Marshall plans to rework Archer’s “Honor Among Thieves” as a sequel starring Scott, and since he has the rights to all thirteen of Archer’s spy novels, the sky is the limit as to how often they could tweak the storylines to fit him. Snatching up all thirteen is a smart move. If Scott succeeds as a character, they have a wealth of screenplay material to draw on. If he’s a flop, they could always adapt any...

[1] Considering the massive success of the Bourne series of films, it's not at all surprising that producer Frank Marshall's got his eye on another potential spy franchise. And if that adaptation goes well, Marshall's already got a sequel planned, to be adapted from Archer's Honor Among Thieves. Read more after the jump. Marshall expressed his enthusiasm for Archer's work. "Jeffrey Archer is a master storyteller whose suspenseful plots and compelling characters have the potential for a multi-feature film franchise with both domestic and international appeal," he said [2] in a statement. He helped turn author Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne character into a highly successful film franchise, now producer Frank Marshall is planning a similar approach to the works of another acclaimed espionage thriller author - Jeffrey Archer.
Last year New Franchise Media scored the worldwide film, TV and digital rights to ten of Archer's novels. Now Marshall has come onboard to help turn two of them - "A Matter of Honor" and "Honor Among Thieves" into a potential franchise with the character of Adam Scott as the main focus says The Hollywood Reporter.
'Matter' follows young ex-military officer Scott who, upon receiving the bequest from his late disgraced British colonel father, comes between rival intelligence agencies in pursuit of a secret codicil that could change the global balance of power.
'Thieves' is much more of a stretch to adapt as it's set in 1993 and involves a plan by Saddam Hussein...

Producer Frank Marshall will be developing a big screen adaptation of the Jeffrey Archer novel A Matter of Honor as a feature film. The story is an espionage action thriller that Marshall hopes will be turned into a big action movie franchise.
The film will tell the story of a young ex- military officer character named Adam Scott, who unwittingly comes between rival intelligence agencies in pursuit of an object that can change the global balance of power.
According to THR "the plan is to also create an action sequel based on Archer’s Honor Among Thieves novel using a recurring character from A Matter of Honor, Adam Scott, as the main focus." Marshall had this to say in a statement:

Aside from producing such iconic franchises as Indiana Jones and Back to the Future, Hollywood hotshot Frank Marshall has also tried his hand at directing with films like Congo and Arachnophobia. Now THR has word that Marshall is set to direct an adaptation of Jeffrey Archer's novel A Matter of Honor. If all goes well, the plan includes a sequel based on Honor Among Thieves, another novel featuring the Scott character. Here's the official synopsis of A Matter of Honor: In 1966, Adam Scott, an unemployed British ex-army officer with an uncertain future, attends the reading of his disgraced father's will. Sony continue their trend of re-releasing classic Playstation 2 titles on the PS3 in swanky new HD iterations with the latest line the Classics HD line, The Sly Collection.
Sly Cooper, a young adult raccoon and the latest descendant in a line of master thieves who pass down their expert techniques from generation to generation using the “Thievius Racoonus,” a book which contains all the Cooper family’s secrets and tricks. While the Cooper family has accumulated a massive amount of wealth through their thieving ways, Sly places greater value on his friendship with his partners, Bentley and Murray, and his flirting and teasing relationship with Inspector Carmelita Fox.
I’ll be the first to admit that the Sly Cooper trilogy of games originally passed me by on the PS2. As someone who came to Sony’s then-flagship console late (I used to be a Nintendo fanboy, so sue me), I...

It would be a disgrace to all Seto Mermaids if you don’t read this review, because “Honor among thieves is honor under the Seas.” You will hear the main female lead, Sun Seto, say this signature line at least once per episode in Funimation’s new romantic comedy, My Bride Is A Mermaid.
The basic plot of the story is that Nagasumi (our hero) is saved from drowning by Sun Seto (the mermaid). However, Mermaid Law states that if a human sees a mermaid the mermaid (and/or the human) has to die. The solution to this problem is of course to have them get married!
Admittedly, from reading the plot summary, and just from the title of this series, one could assume that this was just another run of the mill harem show with a contrived plot that does not matter. While you would be right about it being a harem show,...

The sadist is alive and well in web series drama. Maybe he wasn’t getting enough love on other screens—crowded out by brooding teen vamps? But online is where his dark games seem to run wild. Compulsions went right for it, wasting no time in cutting to office drone Mark’s sadistic side. And the recently launched Dice had no problem with its merciless hero watching someone blow his head off in front of him. So with the premiere of Goon, the latest indie web drama to venture to the dark side, comes what feels like a trend brewing. Just two episodes in, this one is a mystery. Not in the traditional sense, more in the Lost sense where it’s not clear what exactly is going on yet or who we’re going to see. Even the show’s site is deliberately vague in its dishing of the...

With all the talk of 3D televisions and Nintendo’s upcoming 3Ds, it looks like 3D-gaming is on track to becoming The Next Big Thing in the gaming community. But 3D gaming is nothing new. In fact, it’s almost as old as gaming itself. And while the future of 3D at home looks bright, the past is littered with failed experiment, cheap glasses and more eye-strain induced headaches then you can possibly imagine. While we touched on gaming’s iffy history with 3D before, here’s an in-depth look at some of gaming’s 3D highlights and pitfalls.
