This remake of Roger Corman's low-budget It Conquered the World (1956) was one of a series of films shot in 16mm and color. It was used to pad out one of American-International's television syndication packages.

Tony Huston was seventeen when he played the role of Keith Ritchie, a character who was supposed to be the middle aged peer of 46 year old John Agar's character, Dr. Curt Taylor. The filmmakers attempted to disguise Huston's age by adding white highlights to his hair and dark cosmetic facial contours.
