One Million Years B.C. is a co-production of Hammer Film Productions, Associated British-Pathé and Seven Arts Productions. In the U.S., 20th Century Fox released this film to theaters, but only in an edited 91-minute version (nine minutes were cut from the UK's original 100-minute version). This edited U.S. version of the film is still being released on DVD by 20th Century Fox. Most of its cut scenes are of fights and violence, which were done in order to make it accessible to a larger (i.e., younger) audience.
