After the release of Cowboy Carter, the country music community won’t be letting Beyoncé go anytime soon. A group of Black artists in country music have now given Queen Bey’s classic tracks the country treatment in a new collection from Apple Music, titled Nashville Sessions: Beyoncé Covered. Stream it below.
Some of the most exciting voices in country music appear in the playlist, including Brittney Spencer, who put her spin on the beloved track “Irreplaceable,” and Breland, who took on Lemonade cut “Sandcastles.” Elsewhere, Tanner Adell, Madeline Edwards, and Joy Oladokun put their spin on songs like “Drunk in Love” and “Halo.”
“Beyonce has opened a door that’s going to be really hard to close,” singer-songwriter Tiera Kennedy shared with Apple Music about the recordings. On the joyful reclamation that is Cowboy Carter, she sang alongside Spencer, Adell, and Reyna Roberts on “Blackbiird.”
Adell added, “Country music to me means family.

Brittney Spencer, Joy Oladokun, Tanner Adell Give Beyoncé Catalogue Classics the Nashville Treatment

Now, other Black musicians in the genre — from Brittney Spencer and Tanner Adell to Joy Oladokun, Breland, and more — are painting selections from throughout her catalogue with their own rustic palettes for Apple Music’s Nashville Sessions: Beyoncé Covered collection.
“Beyonce has opened a door that’s going to be really hard to close,” singer and songwriter Tiera Kennedy told Apple Music. The Alabama native reimagined “1+1” for the covers collection, blending country with R&b. Beyoncé did the...

Even amid the concurrent strikes of the past year, there’s been a lot of bonus hand-wringing over the state of the independent producer. Producers, after all, have no SAG or WGA equivalent. Where then does the workaday, blue-collar movie producer find community support? Or work with peers to advance their collective interests?
Well… linking up with a good Artist Development cohort is a great place to star. Which is why we’re thrilled to announce seven new Fellows representing six new projects to kick off the 2023 edition (and 23rd overall!) of the Film Independent Producing Lab.
“We’re delighted to shepherd this group of devoted creative producers through the Lab and give them a dedicated space to further their projects and careers,” says Dea Vazquez, Film Independent’s Associate Director of Fiction Programs.
“We’re thrilled to have feature films in both development and post-production, to support producers at...

Bad Bunny leads the 2022 Latin Grammy Award nominations with 10 bids including Album of the Year (“Un Verano Sin Ti“) and Record of the Year (“Ojitos Lindos”), but can he finally win top honors from the academy? Scroll down for the complete list of contenders in all categories.
SEEBillboard charts: Number-one albums of 2022
The Latin Recording Academy has been somewhat ambivalent about Bad Bunny, judging from his track record over the years. He has won four times, but only in urban genre categories. He lost his three previous Album of the Year bids (for “Yhlqmdlg” and “Oasis” in 2020 and “El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo” in 2021) and his previous Record of the Year nom (for “Vete” in 2020). However, Bad Bunny has emerged as the biggest crossover Latin star in the world. “Un Verano Sin Ti” has topped the all-genre, all-language Billboard 200 albums chart for 11 weeks, which is more than any album in six years.

This year the biggest night in television will also have a smell. On the red carpet of the 2022 Emmys, staffers were spotted spritzing the bushes and ambiance with beloved perfume brand Le Labo.
Specifically, they were spotted infusing the air with last year’s very popular scent Cedrat 37. No word if this is the official scent of the award show or just a couple members of the production crew with impeccable taste.
The connection is fitting: Le Labo is a very high-end brand, with enough Hollywood clout that candles from the company were featured in Beyoncé’s video for 2017’s “Sandcastles.”
A relatively new brand first established in 2006, Le Labo started in New York City and was purchased by Estée Launder Cosmetics in 2014. The company has over 35 fragrances available,...
