The Naked Gun Official Trailer Is The Single Most Important Trailer Of The Year (And Maybe All-Time)
Image
To kickstart their very Mission: Impossible focused CinemaCon presentation, Paramount first debuted the official trailer for their upcoming action-comedy The Naked Gun, a movie they are cheekily describing as "The single most important Naked Gun movie since the other Naked Gun movies."

It's a short teaser, featuring leading man Liam Neeson, as he intervenes during a bank heist, but you're going to have to just watch it to believe it. We also learn that he's playing Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Leslie Nielsen's Lt. Frank Drebin, who the film will honor and it seems like they'll do it in typical Naked Gun fashion.

The film will provide some much-needed humor to an action-packed summer, opening in the wake of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps and opposite the animated sequel The Bad Guys 2 and the body horror film Together. It's likely Fantastic Four will repeat as the box office champ,...

How Mikey Madison’s 'Scream' Role Led to an Oscar Win in 'Anora'
Image
Mikey Madison has experienced a meteoric rise to superstardom thanks to her Academy Award-winning performance in Sean Baker's romantic dramedy Anora, in which the talented leading lady beautifully portrayed the titular New York stripper who experiences a whirlwind love affair with the son of a wealthy Russian oligarch. Not only did the acclaimed picture take home five golden statuettes, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Madison, but it also became Baker's highest-grossing film of his blossoming career thus far.

Though it may seem as though Madison came out of nowhere when she took audiences by storm with her career-defining performance, the actress had actually been hustling in Hollywood for years before headlining the captivating indie hit. In fact, Baker first became a fan of the actress when she appeared in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, though it was her diabolical role as Amber Freeman...

Max Rides a Horse, Not a Cowboy As Wild Cards Two Steps on Our Ellimax Hearts
Image
What’s not to like about Wild Cards Season 2 Episode 2?

We had Ellimax two-stepping, Ally Sheedy, and Martin Sheen. Yee-haw on all fronts, including the Ellimax angst that the series delivers.

“Once a Con a Time in the West” is a fun installment and has enough Yellowstone vibes to make a girl smile more than I did watching Yellowstone Season 5, but that’s neither here nor there.

( Justine Yeung/The CW) Wild Cards Channels Yellowstone with a Ranch Rivalry Case

The case is an opportunity to see another side to Cole, who has an endless bag of talents. It’s not something exclusive to Max, which is part of what makes their partnership intriguing.

Cole can ride a horse like a cover model in a romance novel, and I love it. It was endearing as Max was out of her element on the ranch, and she seemed to be afraid of horses.

Can Little House on the Prairie and Other Classic Shows Be Rebooted Without Rewriting History?
Image
The announcement of a Little House on the Prairie reboot has sparked a familiar debate: How do you revive a beloved classic in today’s world without erasing what made it special?

Reboots are a balancing act. Change too much, and fans feel like they’ve lost the show they loved. Change too little, and it risks feeling outdated. It’s even trickier with historical dramas, where modern sensibilities clash with past realities.

We’ve seen recent attempts to refresh classic family shows, most notably The Waltons. The CW’s Waltons movies returned the family with a new cast and a fresh take.

(NBC/Screenshot)

They made some changes — most notably, introducing an adoption storyline by tweaking Ben’s history — but they didn’t reinvent the core of what made The Waltons work.

It was still warm, sentimental, and deeply rooted in the Depression-era struggles that defined the original.

Will...

Gravity Rush: Playstation game adaptation in the works with Anna Mastro directing
Image
I hope you’re ready to explore a different kind of upside-down because Playstation Productions and Scott Free Productions are developing a film based on the 2012 action-adventure video game Gravity Rush. Shameless and Runaways director Anna Mastro is directing from a script by Emily Jerome (Panopticon).

In Sony’s topsy-turvy adventure, “players assume the role of Kat, a strong-willed girl trying to protect her future in a world crumbling to pieces,” reads the game’s official description. “With incredible gravity-altering abilities, Kat is the only one who can salvage the floating city of Hekseville – if only she could remember who she is…”

Sony released Gravity Rush on the Playstation Vita in 2012. After finding a dedicated audience on the handheld platform, Gravity Rush Remastered was released on the Playstation 4 in 2015 in Japan. The remastered version of the original adventure came to North America and Europe in 2016. Keiichiro Toyama, the creator of the Silent Hill,...
