    Beautiful and entertaining

Very aesthetic and romantic film, conveying the feeling that Josh Pyke expressed in his song "The summer." In Spain we say about a fool person: "le falta un verano". The movie is precisely about that summer that so many people seem to have missed nowadays, hence the angriness and envy towards other citizens who smile or say smart things. I recommend this movie about adorable young people, French countryside and carefree days.

    A surprise delight

Seen during original U.S. release in small Wilshire Bl.theater west of downtown L.A.

I found it a surprise delight. Fluffy, yet still poignant, as opposed to somber, which was the predominant mood of contemporaneous imports:"Monika"'s for example.

    Haven't seen it since.

A bevy of beautiful girls .....

.... spending a "beautiful Summer" (that's what the title claims) in a green country .Faustine is one of them .All the boys around woo her particularly Joachim(Francis Huster Nina Companez would use again for her notorious "Histoire Tres Bonne et Tres Joyeuse de Colinot Trousse -Chemise") but Faustine is not an easy girl;she has this immortal line "I haven't allowed you to caress my back" .

Harmless ,nay dumb stuff:the only good thing is George Marchal's presence.in a part unworthy of himself, he portrays the mature man .

The -harrowing- question is:will Faustine play around with all the young dudes or will she fall for a man who could be her father?

An unbelievably beautiful and bad movie

A young girl goes for holidays to her grandfather's farm in the French country. She spies her neighbors.

A dream cast: Isabelle Adjani, Francis Huster, Georges Marchal, Jacques Weber, etc. A wonder of cinematography by Ghislain Cloquet (Oscar, BAFTA, César for "Tess") and the OMG! lovely Muriel Català...

BUT a cheesy dialog then/and a bad acting (except for the 5 years old Valentine Varela, everybody overplays!) And unfortunately Muriel Català is a strikingly bad actress...

Anyway, I love that bad movie! A Nina Companeez and Mag Bodard's bad movie is still worth seeing!
