Peter Facinelli Says He Had to Go Through a 'Healing Process' After Divorcing Jennie Garth
Peter Facinelli
Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth have remained close since divorcing in 2013, even vacationing together with their significant others and daughters last March at Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort in Cancún, Mexico.

Though they may have the whole co-parenting thing down, Facinelli told Lapalme magazine that it wasn’t always easy for the actors to navigate their post-marital life as they do now.

“Once a break up happens you need to go through the healing process first,” the 43-year-old Supergirl actor explained. “Love is blind and hindsight is 20/20.

“People come into your life for a reason and relationships can change...

Lauren Scruggs Says Husband Jason Kennedy Still Helps Her Get Dressed Because of Her Prosthesis
Street of a Thousand Pleasures (1972)
The ability to get dressed each day is something many people take for granted.

Among her many challenges, Lauren Scruggs Kennedy found it difficult to maintain her sense of style after she lost her left eye and part of her left arm in a propeller accident in 2012. For her, getting a prosthetic just a few months after the accident helped her start that journey. “I felt more like myself with the prosthesis, so then I could dress more like myself,” she says. “I was just in workout clothes all the time doing physical therapy all day. And then it became,...

Star Sightings: Leonardo DiCaprio and Girlfriend Nina Agdal Enjoy Date Night in New York!
Date night!

Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend, Nina Agdal, enjoyed a quiet dinner at Zuma in New York City on Wednesday. The cute couple dined alongside Sean Penn and rapper Q-Tip, sharing sushi plates of Zuma’s Robata grilled fare and rounds of cocktails.

While DiCaprio and crew grabbed a bite in the Big Apple, the happily uncoupled Jennie Garth and her ex-husband, Peter Facinelli, brought their significant others along for a family vacation at the recently opened Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort in Cancun, Mexico. The tropical getaway was Garth and Facinelli’s first vacay together since their 2013 divorce, alongside their daughters, Lola, 14, and Fiona, 10.

They all enjoyed the resort's Unlimited Luxury amenities, including pampering at the Dreams Spa by Pevonia, riding down the resor's awesome water slides ,parasailing, gourmet dining at on-site restaurant Gaucho and plenty of ice cream. The group had a great time lounging poolside and fitting in some long overdue quality...

Friendly Exes! Inside Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli’s Family Vacation (with Their Significant Others!)
Uschi Digard and Charles Pitt in Supervixens (1975)
Talk about successful co-parenting!

Though they’ve been divorced since 2013, Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli were nothing but smiles while on vacation together over the weekend — and People has exclusive images from their time at the Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort in Cancún, Mexico.

But it wasn’t a rekindling, romantic trip. The former couple was joined by their two younger daughters — Lola, 14, and Fiona, 10 — Garth’s husband Dave Abrams, and Facinelli’s girlfriend Lily Anne Harrison. (Garth and Facinelli’s eldest daughter Luca, 19, is away at college.)

“The group seemed happy, like a modern family,” an onlooker tells People.

Coming Distractions: John Boyega goes from Star Wars to the streets of L.A. in the Imperial Dreams trailer
John Boyega filmed his new Netflix movie Imperial Dreams long before his star-making turn as reluctant stormtrooper Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But though Malik Vitthal‘s gritty inner city drama won an Audience Award for its world premiere at Sundance in 2014, it’s taken the film a few years to make it onto screens. Now, Netflix has a trailer for the movie, which sees Boyega playing a single father and aspiring writer trying to keep himself and his son out of danger in Los Angeles’ infamous Imperial Courts housing projects.

Shot on location, Dreams looks to be a gut-punch of a film, as Boyega’s Bambi balances responsibilities, social pressures, and the crushing weight of poverty in an attempt to keep himself and his son alive and free. The film debuts on February 3 on Netflix.

Cindy Crawford's Closet is Just as Incredible as You Imagined It Would Be—Prepare to be Jealous!
Street of a Thousand Pleasures (1972)
Dreams, meet realized: We're getting a peek into Cindy Crawford's supermodel-sized closet. Crawford opened up her Malibu home to the folks at The Coveteur, which means we had the chance to pour over all the dresses, necklaces, bags and shoes that her model daughter Kaia Gerber gets to borrow for at-home photo shoots. And this closet doesn't disappoint: We spotted the Peter Pilotto dress that Cindy wore in Mumbai back in June, plus luxe leather accessories and a shoe wall worth selling a soul (or two) for. Kaia, by the way, not only gets to model mom's clothes at home—one day the closet will actually be hers. (So. Jealous.) "I have a lot of clothes that actually I haven't even...

Recap: 'American Idol' Auditions - Minneapolis
Jennifer Lopez
We've reached that intriguing place in the "Idol" audition schedule that overlaps with Sundance, so there's a distinct chance that between now and next Thursday, a few of the audition episodes may not get recapped.  Instead? You can expect a lot of reviews for documentaries you've never heard of! Woot! Follow along with my recap for Wednesday (January 21) night's auditions from Minneapolis... 8:00 p.m. Et. Minneapolis is today's "American Idol" destination. It's the first time "Idol" has been here in seven years, apparently. And the judges are trapped in an SUV. High drama to start the episode. Will they escape? And who will be forced to eat who first? I assume J-Lo and Harry eat Keith first. 8:02 p.m. Darn. They appear to have escaped without resorting to cannibalism. Our first contestant is 17-year-old Shannon Berthiaume, who has never sung in front of anybody before. She's got a strong Kristen Stewart vibe,...

The Knife – Shaking The Habitual Review
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

The Knife are an act that continues to evolve. Sure, the evolutionary steps to get here have taken them sometime, given that their last studio album was released in 2006, but our own evolution didn’t happen overnight you know? Alongside this evolution, and perhaps a key part in making it so or at least helping it along, The Knife steadily continue to get more, and more, bat-shit insane.

Nowhere is that better exemplified than on the stopgap release in collaboration with Planningtorock and Mt. Sims that arrived in 2010, by the name of Tomorrow, In a Year. A four-way collaborative alt-opera commissioned by the Danish Hotel Pro Forma performance group for their opera based on Charles Darwin’s The Origin of Species. I couldn’t begin to explain whilst trying to focus this review on their new album.

A new album though, called Shaking The Habitual, arrived...

Blu-ray: Boardwalk Empire: The Complete Second Season – Darker, Cerebral & Utterly Mesmerizing
Boardwalk Empire’s second season took the series in a darker, more cerebral direction. Instead of giving viewers just another Godfather tale, the writers and producers were able to delve into the convoluted psyche of the gangster. Dreams, aspirations and beleaguered origins were all pushed past the boiling point. The curtain was pulled back on the romantic illusion of the Roaring 20’s – presented in season one – giving viewers an eye-popping tale of deceit and corruption buried beneath the sands of the boardwalk. Magnetic performances from Steve Buscemi, Kelly Macdonald, Michael Kenneth Williams, Michael Pitt, Jack Huston and Michael Shannon made season two one of the most mesmerizing series of 2011.

The Boardwalk Empire Season 2 Blu-ray collects the entire season on five discs. It comes with a startling amount of bonus content and featurettes with the cast and crew.

Season 2 focuses on Nucky Thompson’s (Buscemi) fall from grace. The infamous treasurer of Atlantic City,...

Kim Cattrall, Ricky Martin And More Up For Theater Awards
Kristin Scott Thomas in Play (2001)
The Drama League Awards may not be quite as prestigious as the Tonys, but they have a few years on them. Established in 1922 and made official in 1935 (the Tonys began in '47), the awards honor the best in theater both on and off Broadway. The League announced their nominations today, and the list includes many of the names we expect to be seeing from the Tonys when they announced their nominations next Tuesday. Raven-Symone (currently starring in "Sister Act" on Broadway), Megan Hilty and Justin Long announced the nominees for the awards' five categories -- Distinguished Production of a Play, Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Revival of a Musical and the Distinguished Performance Award, for which more than 50 actors -- male and female -- were nominated. The winner can only receive the award once during his or her career, according to Broadway World, which...

DC Comics July 2012 Solicitations
It’s that time again… okay, it’s a little past that normal time, thanks to the Mix March Madness wrapup, but here are the preview materials for DC Comics releases for July 2012.

What’s on tap this month? More of the Before Watchmen books, with the debut of Ozymandias from Len Wein and Jae Lee, the conclusion of the Court of Owls storyline and crossover in all the Bat-books, and the debut of the done-in-one book, National Comics, featuring the New 52 Debut (coming right at you) of Eternity.

And in the white elephant of desire category, there’s the $300 statue showing the climactic scene from The Dark Knight Returns.

Once more, into the breach? Banzai!

As always, spoilers may lurk beyond this point.

'American Idol' exit Q&A: 'I want to go cry a little bit'
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol: The Search for a Superstar (2002)
“We’re saving Elise.” And with that quiet statement from a sparkly heeled Jennifer Lopez, Jeremy Rosado became the first Top 13 contestant to be eliminated — judges’ choice, remember — from American Idol’s 10th season. EW was on the scene at CBS Television City in Los Angeles for the live taping, and there is only one way to describe the vibe of Rosado’s exit: totally emotional.

Rosado was on his knees during the pre-elimination commercial break — and there was a sense that he knew what was coming the whole time he was on the stage, likely spurred by those harsh...

Berlinale 2012. Forum Expanded + Culinary Cinema
Back in December, we got our first look at Forum Expanded, a program of exhibitions, performances and other works that don't necessarily entail lowering the lights and peering straight ahead at the big white screen. So we already know that we'll be seeing new work by Luke Fowler, Harun Farocki and many others. The first of today's announcements from the Berlinale (February 9 through 19) fills in the details.

The addition, for example, of whiteonwhite:algorithmicnoir (image above) by Eve Sussman/Rufus Corporation, "a film edited live in real time which shows a man under surveillance in a fictional East European city," solidifies the impression that Forum Expanded is a rough equivalent of Toronto's Future Projections program and Sundance's New Frontier since, by the time it rolls into Berlin, it'll already have been presented by both.

Other notable additions since December's announcement: Luc Moullet's "uncompleted project about two thieves (mother and daughter...

Glee Review: "Rumours"
Glee paid tribute to Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" this week and it was the truth.

The only cheese in this week's episode "Rumours" was in Brittany's fondue pot. Brittany and Lord Tubbington were a great kick off to the episode. Did anyone notice the photos on the wall behind her though? They didn't look like they were shots of her or were they? Maybe I was the stupid one Artie, either way Brittany was completely dope all episode long.

Sue did seem a bit unhinged but she did paranoid well and made for a hilarious Ann Coulter.

April was good in her return even if she looked a little like Magda from There's Something About Mary as she sipped her drink in Sue's office. Loved her line about drinking her dinner these days while having the straw in the wine glass to boot. The woman can sing that is for certain.

Penelope Cruz, Olivia Wilde And More Stars Featured In Disney Dream Portraits
Penelope Cruz and Jeff Bridges as Beauty and the Beast? Olivia Wilde as the Evil Queen and Alec Baldwin as the sinister Spirit of The Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves? Queen Latifah as Ursula from The Little Mermaid? These aren’t new films slated for 2011, although that would be awesome. Veteran photographer Annie Leibovitz has created a series of images with celebrities recreating Disney characters. She’ll continue to add to the collection to showcase Disney’s Year of a Million Dreams promotion, in a process that started in January this year.Previous images have included Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella wearing an incredible Harry Winston tiara. Another shot has Beyonce as Alice, Lyle Lovett as the March Hare and Oliver Platt as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.

In this shot, Penelope gets carried away by Jeff from the final scene of Beauty and the Beast and the caption reads,...

The female authors of the 'Never Again' Anthology, benefitting the Sophie Lancaster Foundation
Never Again is an attempt to voice the collective revulsion of writers in the weird fiction genre against political attitudes that stifle compassion and deny our collective human inheritance.

The imagination is crucial to an understanding both of human diversity and of common ground. Weird fiction is often stigmatised as a reactionary and ignorant genre - we know better. The anthology is published by Gray Friar Press and edited by Allyson Bird and Joel Lane. The Sophie Lancaster Foundation is one of the three organisations which will benefit from the proceeds of Never Again. It is just over three years since the brutal slaying of Sophie Lancaster, a girl who was murdered for simply being different. I hope that people will pre order the anthology so we here at FanGirlTastic can help, too. Other organisations which will benefit from this anthology are Amnesty International and Pen (Pen is an international...

In honor of Valentine's Day, our staff will be sharing some of their favorite romantic scenes all day long.

My favorite romantic scenes are ones that show true openness and vulnerability, even when I've seen them so many times I've practically memorized them: Rick insisting that Ilsa must go (Casablanca), Benjamin rattling the glass and shouting "Elaine! Elaine!" (The Graduate), and Lloyd Dobler holding a boom box over his head (Say Anything...). Those feelings characterize the final scene of Wong Kar-Wai's Chungking Express.

The film tells two stories, both featuring Hong Kong cops dealing with the pangs of love and loss, and the very special ladies that revolve around them. In the second tale, gorgeous Tony Leung Chiu Wai (Aka Cop 663) catches the eye of food stand worker Faye Wong (Aka Faye). They meet as "California Dreamin'" (by The Mamas & the Pappas) is blaring from a radio, and it's...

Nollywood Review – “Deepest Of Dreams”
Ms Nollywood Forever has given me permission to use her reviews of Nollywood films here.

So, for those of you interested in diving into the mosh pit that is Nollywood cinema but are either intimidated or just don’t have the desire to sift through thousands of titles, in search of gems, I hope you’ll find her reviews helpful.

She reviews just about everything – the good and the bad, or as she states – “(Nigerian and Ghanaian) movies that I have watched. The old, the new… The good, the bad… The excellent and the disastrous.”

And she has an entire library full of them (both films and reviews of films). But I’ll only post reviews of those films she recommends, starting off with today’s selection titled, Deepest Of Dreams, written and directed by Tchidi Chikere, which she gives an 81% rating, calling it “thought provoking” and “well worth watching.

HollyDebate! Most HollywoodLifers Agree With Me — Katy Perry Was Downright Nasty On ‘American Idol’
Retna

One commenter even deemed the pop princess a ‘Destroyer of Dreams.’ I couldn’t have said it better myself!

The sparks are really flying on the HollywoodLife.com comment boards! Who knew Katy Perry’s guest judge appearance on American Idol would get everyone so riled up? Although my post ticked off one reader (yes, I heard you, Obgyn), the majority of you HollywoodLifers agree with me … the girl-kissing (and liking it) pop star was a total wench during the La auditions.

“Katy Perry is a pretentious, pink cow,” Lola aptly commented. “Why was she so cruel to all those contestants? It’s not like she’s some major talent. Here’s her new epithet: Katy Perry, Destroyer of Dreams.”

Lol.

When Obgyn argued that judges on Idol are only effective if they are tough, like Simon Cowell, Joe2 lashed back, “To be a good judge and/or a...

The rape and murder of a young girl is among the most atrocious and sordid of all crimes, hardly a walk in the park, though when you watch scenes of Peter Jackson.s victim looking beatifically down on earth against a background of limitless beauty, you might be tempted to say: hey, maybe there is a walk in the park to comfort those whose lives are taken from them just as they are beginning to bloom. There.s a considerable amount of emotion in Alice Sebold.s novel of the same name, but Peter Jackson, known to broad swaths of moviegoers for his momentous .Lord of the Rings. trilogy,...

Juanes' Peace Without Borders Concert Draws Crowd In Havana

The Obama administration has been hinting at a possible thaw in the half-century standoff with Cuba, and on Sunday, Colombian pop star Juanes did his best to further the cause by headlining a massive concert for peace in Havana's famed Plaza de la Revolución.

Playing in front of several hundred thousand fans at the Peace Without Borders concert, Juanes bucked the authoritarian regime led by the Castro brothers by chanting, "Cuba libre! Cuba libre!" ("Free Cuba!") before segueing into a call for "One Cuban family! One Cuban family!" He was appealing to the many Cuban exiles who, according to The Miami Herald, had criticized the show because they feared it would appear to lend support to the authoritarian communist Castro regime. In an ominous and telling sign,...

Slumdog Millionaire Soundtrack
Who Wants To Be A Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack owner? I do.

First off the bat; I like this score. The movie (nominated for 4 Golden Globes and a hot Oscar contender) is a smart premise that has a director who approached it smart. It needed an intense driving score to accompany it. A.R. Rahman delivers that and much more. I’m not sure what you’d call it… Indian Electronica? Indian Street Techno? Whatever it’s called, it works like hell for this film.

On first listen, it really started to remind me of 1998’s Run Lola Run merged with 2002’s City Of God. Both films share similar themes with the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack. A.R. Rahman pulls of the perfect mood for the films urban slum setting and ping-ponging of time. The man is a composing machine. He’s scored over one-hundred films in sixteen years. He’s probably finished another...
